Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Nearly 30 minutes since I asked about my install on the VM Tivo community forum, no reply or PM. Anyone know if I can just call the normal Virgin 151 or do I have to call a different number?

GRIZ, if you go on saynoto0870.com and search for VM there is an entry for the installs team. This number gets you through to a person in the UK who can check that you are booked in.
I've just done it and all is as planned.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Getting TiVo installed on Wednesday as an additional box (already got a V+, V HD and a Samsung). So TiVo therefore my 4th box.
Got my new contract stuff in. Expected to pay an additional £6.50 multiroom charge, but it's gone up by £10.50! From £103 to £113.50.
Not happy to say the least. Can anybody explain how they may have come about this additional cost?
Cheers

Ring CS & RANT!!
My contract was £20.00 more than expected
Was told that the contract was wrong - agreed original price
It really depends who you talk to - I'm afraid VM pricing staff are not giveb the right information
Good luck - let us know how you get on

I am getting my Tivo box installed on Wednesday (hopefully) and i was just wondering if when you put the box on standby does the harddrive switch off after a few minutes like the V+?

Good call. I'd like to know how it behaves too. My Samsung box annoys me at night with it's bright blue LEDs. I'd like to see a box with no standby light on at all. Why do we need a standby light? Press the remote button to turn it on, if it doesn't, it's not plugged in. Done.

The TiVo is blissfully quiet (compared to my old V+ box). You'd never know if the hard drive was on or off.

same here. Sammy V+ is generally quiet but has a habit of running the fan for long period when in standby. I've heard the Tivo doesn't have a fan so should be pretty silent.

Apparently the additional cost is £6.50 multiroom and the rest is by way of price increases for various things (boxes, talk plans, etc, etc).
Have I, once again (as I have come to expect from VM) been diddled?
Cheers

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Ok just had my install took about a hour to do the engineer had not do one before and I help to get my old v+ moved.
His work order had me getting a new vhd box I explained that I got a phone call on Friday saying I could keep my v+ and move it for free and not pay anything for it each month.
The only problem so far is the Iplayer won't work it freezes when it loads
