Will give it a go today, Gonna go for a 1.5 mile timed tomorrow so will post the time

Re: Who Is Getting Fit This Year?
Gave it a rough go, 30 minutes or so.
Main problem I seem to be having is Breathing. My muscles can take it but my lungs cant.
I'm a smoker (15-20 a day)
So its clear that this is a massive issue and is going to have to be cut right down or out.
Food wise:
Nothing cooked via Fat, No deep fry =]
Eating Fish and keeping a decent balance, Not a drinker so that's not going to be an issue.
So to sum it up I think the goals for this week are:
- Lower smoking rate
- Jogging at a steady pace
I've got the other tests nailed (Strength etc.)
This 1.5 mile run is a Pass or Fail moment regardless of your scores in the others.

Re: Who Is Getting Fit This Year?
Nice to see folks still doing well in this thread.
After going on holiday I was fearing the worst for my weight loss, but I came home and the extra exercise I'd taken while i was away had helped with a few more shed pounds, and after I weighed myself yesterday I've now lost 26lbs in total.
After seeing the Stephen Nolan factual programme Dead Fat, I aim to keep it off too.
Keep up the great work folks.

Onto the 'leaning up' stage of my little plan, weight dropping off. Lost 8lb in the past week and a bit. Mostly water obviously but still not too shabby.

Wow! Your doing brilliantly Ravenheart, how much do you still want to lose?
I have found over the years that the older I get the harder it is to lose weight. I've still got the exercise bike out so I may do a bit cycling now and again, but my original incentive to slim down has gone. Luckily Mr T loves me just as I am, any weight loss now would be purely for health reasons.

Re: Who Is Getting Fit This Year?
Been going to the gym for the last year and a bit. Had to take a week off last week, as I had a bad back. It's still not great, but it's a lot better than it was, and I was able to do a limited work out tonight. Hopefully it'll be OK in a couple of days.

Re: Who Is Getting Fit This Year?
even after the holiday (with a lot of drinking and eating), and a work trip to NY (with a lot of drinking and eating), I've still managed to lose 1lb in the last 4 weeks - had expected to put on weight, so that's good.
