Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Mid morning, no Tivo, no phone call, no patience.
Still I think a morning install is up to 13.00.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
I'm supposed to be having my TIVO installed today between 8am and 1pm and was told I'd get a phonecall from the engineer before but am still waiting and getting a little worried now! Fingers crossed he turns up!

Good question....I think you should just select "upgrade" and sales will call you back regarding the offer to keep the box.

Silly really!

I had my install yesterday after phoning up on Tuesday to upgrade to VIP50.
Was a little worried when it got to 12:20 so I rang customer services and as luck would have it the engineer phoned to say he was on his way just as the CS chap said he'd give him a ring.
It was really interesting to watch the install. The engineer, his boss and his bosses boss (the last two had just been on training so were out to see how an install is done) did a top job. Split the cable for the V+ box moving to the bedroom, changed the BB/TV splitter, and had to do a lot of signal checking because my levels seem to be pretty low.
They were a good little team. Clearly got on well and had good banter. Engineer was called James which caused a bit of confusion with that being my name as well. I went to get a screwdriver at one point much to their amusement The top boss was called Pavel. Funny (haha) chap. Saw a couple of my photos from Iceland and said he's going to go there on the ferry so he can take his car!
Anyway (I'm getting a bit carried away!), the install took a couple of hours what with all the checking of the signal, etc. Certainly a 10/10 job.
Now I just need to figure out how to get the girlfriend to pay a bit more of the monthly subscription

I think they only call when they know what time they are getting to you for, otherwise it's a bit pointless.
Having TiVO installed today too! Can't wait!!

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
After complaining about the fact that CS wouldn't let me order on the phone even though I'm authorised on the account - a very helpful staff member on the VM Community Forum looked into it for me and I now have an install date on my requested date of 23rd April (instead of May 6th emailed to me yesterday) - result!
