Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Hi all, I've tried a number of times to call and order TiVo on the phone. After a couple of calls, which were unsuccessful due to "system errors" or "system not being updated", I was told that since I only have 10 Mb Broadband currently I would have to have an engineer come to install V+ HD first before I am able to "upgrade" to TiVo, is this correct?
Or in other words: is having a current TV package a requirement before TiVo can be installed?
If this is the case then I will probably be unlikely to get the free installation for TiVo since the earliest I can have V+ HD installed is on the 27th April and it will take a few days to swap it for a TiVo box.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Received a very nice phone call from VM tonight, confirming my installation for tomorrow and here's the best bit, 'how would you like to keep your existing V+ box and have it installed on another tv, oh and it won't cost you anything extra per month over and above the £3 charge for tivo'
I didn't have to think too long and hard about that one, well done VM.
I did wonder what they were going to do with 30,000 returned boxes!

I haven't got the money this month as the Missus is going away but I will have next.
Unless I am very much mistaken, there's no time limit stated in the email is there?

I'm really pleased for you on that one, but I do wonder when VM will learn to offer consistent pricing across all customers?
Most people keeping their V+ boxes are being charged the standard multiroom charge and others (as per your post) are being giving it free of charge.
Some ordering Tivo are keeping their retention deal and others are being told they will lose it.
The vast outcry over Tivo install was due to some being charged for installation and others getting it free.
But I do wonder if VM want to address it? There was a thread on the VM Tivo forum called 'Tivo or Loyalty discount' and it was closed, apparantly for going off topic. Yes, there were the usual stupid Sky's better than Virgin and Virgin's better than Sky posts, but that seems to happen on a lot of threads and they don't get closed.

Yes I've been charged multi for keeping my V+. Virgin do themselves no favours by doing this. Just causes resentment for not being consistant. I'm going to call them back now and make a nuisance of myself.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Ordered TiVo online on Tues, chose 23rd April as 1st choice for install, 30th as second choice (as I'm working the rest of the time) . Just received an email to say they'll be calling on Weds 27th between 7am and 1pm! I thought they were supposed to ring if your preferred dates aren't available?
