What are my options
When I moved into my house the previous occupier had fed some RF cables through the walls to have an output into the kitchen. This was fed by a splitter from the main cable input and has enabled us to watch analogue channels there. As you can imagine these have gradually been disappearing and now it's down to BBC1,ITV and C4.
Before I lose everything altogether have any tech savvy peoples out there got any suggestions what I might be able to do to keep the missus happy whilst I've tied her to the kitchen? (TV only I'm talking here before anyone comnes back lol)

Re: What are my options
Are you a cable subscriber or are you taking this feed directly off the incoming cable?

Re: What are my options
If Channel 5 has disappeared it will be directly of the cable. I'm also betting they are in Nottingham
Options are limited
1) Get another STB from Virgin
2) Takee feed from the existing STB you have (Video Sender or RF connection)
3) Get Freeview or something similar

Re: What are my options
Am in Lincoln, so probably fed from Nottingham. Yes am a subscriber have v+ box and somehow still an old SD box.
With RF connection you say can I split the signal out of my box then, currently splits before hence the analogue channels.
Any have experience of video senders that work with VM?

Re: What are my options
They should all work with a V+ box. The issues came with some of the older boxes using different remote codes

Re: What are my options
Bit more advice if poss please, is a fairly small wall mounted TV in the kitchen so not a massive amount of room behind, are there digisenders that are reasonably compact. Also I assume they fit in the scart socket on the V+, daft question maybe but I presume the one that output to the TV pre HDMI as the other socket has DVD recorder attached

Re: What are my options
I'd grab a scart freeview adapter (like this http://www.play.com/Electronics/Elec...4|prd:19254114) and stick an antenna on the end of the cable by the splitter. If you were fine with just getting terrestrial on that set then why bother with Virgin?

Re: What are my options
Well up until fairly recently you could get about 10-15 channels via this method, only since switch off have channels dropped off.
I can't imagine would get enough signal to get a decent freeview signal unless someone can tell me things are different since I last tried one

Re: What are my options
Does anyone have a video sender that works with a Samsung V+ box? I was told in Nottingham VM shop that video senders won't work. If you have one I'd appreciate knowing the make and model. Cheers.

Re: What are my options
Okay have got a sender to try (making sure I can return it).
I tried it in the TV out scart socket but got nothing, I guess this is disabled because I am using HDMI?
Then tried the VCR out scart and that worked but of course now I can't copy to DVD without swapping cables. Is this everyone elses experience or am I missing a trick?
Also seemed to get picture break up on main TV while I was trying to set it up, is there any way this could interfere with the main signal. I couldn't logically see how it could but was definitely something going on last night.

Another question, as I said have got RF cables and sockets already laid under the floor/through the walls whatever, is there a way of splitting the hdmi signal from the V+ and converting it to an RF type

Re: What are my options
Final thought as I search the internet, a scart to RF modulator to go where I have the digi sender and maybe a scart splitter to enable the DVD recorder to be connected too, anyone have experience of this ?
Just seen reply above
