Have no idea. If I was to guess then the modem would stay on the previous config until Virgin pick up the duplicate kit and disable it

Your missing the point. He shouldnt have a vmg300 to try with as the engineer should take the vmg300 away.

And if that is the case then the engineer will swap the modem for the SuperHub on the account, which means to re-enable the modem will require a call to TSC to do it, which they won't do because they know the only the SuperHub can be enabled for 100Mbit

They won't care what Relations or anyone else has promised, they will follow the product policy

I just read in another thread they leave dir615's behind because they not reused, so why are they taking vmng's away?

Engineers always take terminating equipment away such as modems or STBs, even if it's not reused. This complies with the WEEE directive

As the routers can be reused by the customer I would assume they don't fall under the same directive

Re: Vmng300

Because the tech has x amount of modems assigned to his tech. He issues them out and the old equipment goes on his tech. He then hands them to the store. Any equipment lost gets put on a report. Manager gives you a slap on wrist/disciplinary.

I've had standoffs with customers refusing to give me their v+ after I install a TiVo as they believe they bought the box for £49. Either I take it back or no Tivo!

Re: Vmng300

All I can say now is that no matter how good or bad the install tech is he will NOT take away my modem.

If he has issues with that after I've told him what I've been reassured of by other VM departments I will just send him away and cancel the install. He can either do it or not at all.

BTW engineers are known to take away routers as well.

Re: Vmng300

Ok, theoretically, lol, sorry..,

Could it be superhub only for 100meg as eventually it will be 6 downstream channels? I know vm dont like more than 20mbit per channel. What if virgin change 100meg to 8 downstream channels in say 6 weeks time, would that Knock a vmg300 off? If so an engineer would be called to replace your vmg300 with a superhub and you would be locked into a 12month contract?

There must be a Reason why the superhub can bond so many channels

Re: Vmng300

Virgin will expect everyone to be on a SuperHub for 100Mbit, so if they make changes to the number of channels used won't worry about it because any changes they make will be supported by the SuperHub

There is no process to swap 100Mbit customers from a VMNG300 to a SuperHub before they make any changes, because no-one should be on a VMNG300 and 100Mbit in the first place

To be quite truthful it does get tiresome when all you get from staff is VM expect etc.

Why won't you accept that what you have been told is wrong (and personally I wold raise a complaint against the person)

To get 100Mbit Virgin require you to have a SuperHub. What you got told by the person you were phoned by is wrong

It's that simple

I've told you this. Nopanic has told you this. Masque has told you this. jb66 has told you this. Rose has told you this

It won't happen

Re: Vmng300

So what!
Have you not seen that I don't really care?
Your engineer who will call on 30thMarch will either do it or not!
If not he will be sent away!
You seem to have missed the whole point of this thread.

I know well it won't happen.

I know well it could happen if VM were not so fixated on the superhub.

I know full well the VMNG300 will do it.

I know full well VM won't.

I know full well that retentions said I could do it.

As has been said in previous posts that you "practically" run VM can you now see the point?

If not I can see where the problem lies.............................................. .
