But you aren't on 100Mbit.
Even if Customer Relations and CEOs still have stock of VMNG300 modems they won't give you a modem on 100Mbit, because it's not part of the product and never has been.

All of us employees ARE agreeing. You aren't going to get 100Mbit via a modem as it's not part of the product

Because he's not in CEOs
Installers can only install what they've been issued.
For CEOs to send out modems they will be taking them from regional stores which means the more they send out the less installers and fault techs will have them
Once the stock is gone, it's gone and no-one will be able to send them

Re: Vmng300
I CANT get any. I was asking how other folk are getting one. Also the charge relates to the engineers sheet of lost CPE. My stores sent them all back, maybe to the CEO office!!!!

Re: Vmng300
Seems like, for a communications company, Virgin aren't particularly good at it. I have a VMNG300 and Superhub, they can be swapped happily. The only thing that changes is the IP address and latency. Oh and reliability :p
In an attempt at re-railing this thread, here is my experience of moving off the damned superhub. I dont know if this is unique to me, but my connection is now massively better without the infernal device:
Last Thursdays Superhub:

This Thursdays VMNG300:

The difference is shocking. The Superhub is an awful piece of kit. It's even worse when you consider that last week the house was empty from 8am to 5pm, whereas there has been someone off this week so the connection would have been used. It is still not perfect, but that is down to VM's network not their CPE. Gaming certainly feels a bit better now though, as does browsing.

So if I hide the modem as advised I get charged £50 even though VM don't collect them any more.
You say I don't
jb66 says I do.
I happen to know jb66 is a very good tech but you disagree and correct him, hence my saying agree between yourselves first.
Masque is the only one to have come out with any sense so far. The acid test is on the 30th. It works or it doesn't!

Re: Vmng300
If i was your engineer, i'd close the job down as complete without hitting the modem, request a manual hit after the job is closed and if 100meg came through happy days, if not, never mind... (Managers hate when an install doesnt go ahead)
I'm not risking having a lost modem against my name at my next meeting.
Good luck with your visit but personally I'd be back on the phone to retentions and demand the job should be closed as office only as there is no need for an engineer. There is nothing to do. Surely they can see your power levels from the call center.
Very curious to see how this pans out. If its easy to get a VMG300 on 100meg it will make my job alot less painful!

Re: Vmng300
Whether it's technically possible to get 100Mbit via a modem is neither here nor there
Virgin do not supply 100Mbit via a modem, it's a via SuperHub only. That's how the product is designed, that is what will be on the installers job sheet so that is what they will install

Re: Vmng300
So what would happen if, like me, you had one of those wonky accounts with both modem and hub attached? If I had 100meg would it take the config?

Good point, there going in bin anyway, I know someone who charged a customer for water spilled on a SA4200. The same could be said for that I guess

Re: Vmng300
I'm curious as how it pans out. That's why I posted on here but I seem to have ended up arguing with staff as to how it's not possible.
If it is not possible I don't care! I'm fed up of saying that.
The bottom line is, either it does or it doesn't. If not BT infinity 4 days after and I'll still have my 50Mb connection with VM until contract ends on 23rd April.
I'm seriously not worried!
I was just told I can use my VMNG300 with the 100Mb service if I stayed, If not I don't care!

yep but pip has said he will let the engineer finish this and then try and sort the vmng300 after he has left.
