Newbe with a problem

Hi boys and girls im new here so please be gentle

Today our Virgin media services went off so i popped next door
to ask if they were having any probs as they have virgin too
anyway their services were down aswell and were talking to virgin
on the phone.
We had to go out but on return our main TV came on after a reboot
but our 2nd V box which is in our bedroom seems to be having
more serious problems when we powered it up it would not switch on
the button remained red and the code Ld 20 showing
we eventually got the box on with the virgin Media symbol on the TV screen
but now the V Box wont switch off...No programs & the V box is showing
code AP 52

Any help would be graciously accepted

Re: Newbe with aproblem

Try pulling the power cable out for 30 minutes then see if the box will boot up properly.

Re: Newbe with aproblem

If it won't boot properly tommorrow morning, call faults. If your neighbour's service was down as well it's a network outage to your locality. VM are probably fixing that remotely, but aoocasionally boxes can't reconnect by themselves and may need a "kick" remotely, or perhaps even a tech visit.

Normally rebooting the whole box for like the other members said between 20-30 mins usually works (does for me anyway!).. good luck with it !

I get this occasionally. Reboot and have patience. Going out to work and finding it ok when I get home usually does it.

If you rebooted her before you went to work I'm not surprised. I would think the original boot wouldn't go down too well either

Re: Newbe with aproblem

AP52 usually means no signal. Check that all the cable connections are tight. If they are, ring faults. They will need the number on the viewing card in the box as they may try sending a "hit" to get the box restarted.
