Mum drops dead in front of child
Reading this really moved me:

Mother, 34, drops dead in front of five-year-old son while chatting to friend in supermarket

Having been through something very similar, I feel so much for the family concerned and especially the poor child who's lost his mum. It's heartbreaking and along with the events unwinding in Japan and elsewhere, really puts into perspective just how tenuous our grasp on life can be.
I hope the family and loved ones hget all the help and support they need at this most awful time.

Sounds like an Aeortic Aneurysm or Major Heart Attack.
My Nan died of an Aneurysm years ago and its similar to just flicking a switch off, Dead before you hit the floor.
My thoughts are with the family.

At least she died in a public place and not home alone with him, for some time.

What a terrible thing to happen.
Only time will tell how the young boy will cope.
Life can be so cruel.

Re: Mum drops dead in front of child
That is really sad. I hope the child has the support of the family and friends around him as he grows up.
RIP.

Man that is scary, I hope I never have to go through anyting like that. The only consulation if there is any is that it was instant and painless.

Well, of course, there are no good ways to die but on an individual level I'd rather it happened like that than having to endure a great deal of suffering. Although awful for the family and loved ones, there's always the comforting thought that the victim didn't suffer.

Re: Mum drops dead in front of child
A similar thing happened to one of my daughters friends many years ago (when they were about 6 or 7). Her friends dad just keeled over while walking on the garden path. Apparently a major blood vessel in his brain burst, and he was probably dead before he hit the ground.

Yes, same for an old friend of mine. Aorta split and he bled out almost instantly. He was actually in hospital at the time but there was nothing they could do.

Re: Mum drops dead in front of child
life is indeed fragile, it only takes for one small thing to go wrong and thats it. There is very little buffer between perfectly healthy, and crippled and death. Too many people take life for granted tho.

Re: Mum drops dead in front of child
It certainly puts a lot of our petty gripes into perspective when something as tragic as this happens.

Re: Mum drops dead in front of child
The only thing i can compare it to is, Pushing and holding the power button on your PC. 4 SECONDS and you`re dead., As quick as that.
I was tested for the Aneurysms as it runs in my family, Luckily, nothing is showing up yet but if you`re over 50, you should go and get yourself checked out, just a simple ultrasound scan which will pick up any abnormalities.
