Re: [Update] ALL 20>30Mb upgrade discussion
I know some users are fine for the upload speeds on 30 meg and meg service using the superhub but I also know from reading the community fourms on virgin media and here that there alot of users not getting their upload speed after the ubr upgrade for the speeds.
Can anyone confirm is there an issue and what it is assuming your connection and config seem ok or is it relatred to the problem published by virgin for the superhub?

Re: [Update] ALL 20>30Mb upgrade discussion
You get 3 meg because your ubr has been upgraded for the 3meg faster upload. But there are people like me, using the super hub, connection is fine, config seems good but cant get the 3 meg upload. No ubr utilzation issue, and I cant think what else can be wrong?

Re: [Update] ALL 20>30Mb upgrade discussion
just a number used to identify what channel you on, channel config varies per UBR. On mine its used for legacy services (10 mbit) however on other's its used for overlay (100mbit, 50mbit , 30mbit).

Channel numbers overlap, there's no assignment to each platform. There will be an ID 0, 1, 2, 3 on both platforms as both have line cards with 8 upstreams which may or may not be split into two groups of 4, giving upstream IDs 0,1,2,3 - could even have 4,5,6,7, no reason why channel IDs have to overlap between service groups.
Anyway, point is it's 100% cosmetic and can be ignored.

Re: [Update] ALL 20>30Mb upgrade discussion
has virgin fixed the 30mb problems with a firmware update yet? Does it still cost £30 to upgrade from 20mb?

Re: [Update] ALL 20>30Mb upgrade discussion
I am going to phone up on Monday and try and get my hands on one of the old modems like you guys have from the CXO office, I also know my brother in law has one in his loft when he switched from virgin to sky.
I assume that if I am successful with virgin and get one sent out then it will just be a case of phoning the connections department again?
Or could I get the modem from my brother in law and then phone connections in the same way?
Is all they need to set up the MAC address of the modem on my account?
Upgraded from 20MB to 30MB and am far from happy with the super hub.
