Your downstream levels are too high.

You'll need to get onto Virgin and they'll send a tech out to resolve that.

Speed issues with Virgin vary, the main gripe I have is the Latency and Jitter. I've not had any major issues with the speed - I do hit 50mb down 4.7 up most times of the day.

However different areas of their network are in different conditions (some worse, some better) so it's sometimes the luck of the draw.

Out of interest - what are the results of your speed test at the moment?

You clearly are getting a good speed from Virgin, the problem is obviously what your trying to do with it.

I believe Virgin restrict speeds of certain types of traffic, one of which I presume is torrent's, this could be the cause of your slow downloads.

Personally I don't torrent, never have done and as such can't comment too much but I'm pretty sure they're are many factors which could cause slow downloads, but if your getting a result like that from speedtest, at least it rules out a fault with your line.

Hopefully the more knowledgeable will step in to offer further advice.

Re: problem with 50Mb connection

the upstream seems low to me at 4.35, do a couple more tests. the upstream power seems a tad low, i think the minimum is 35 so 36.7 should be in range, but if your not getting at least 4.5 upload speed it could be a utilisation problem
