Which is the whole point of the OP, to inform them of that.
How's this post ended up in this thread?

I had the same - they said the original order had been incorrectly entered and had to cancel it and re-enter.
My monthly charge apparently increased by £18.50.

Your area hasn't received the faster uploads yet so you only get 1Mbps upload until Virgin decide to upgrade you.
Keep an eye on the faster uploads schedule for when that will happen, it will be between now and March 2012.

[QUOTE=Chrysalis;35170079]am I the only one here paying normal price for this service?
No. like Masque I get mine on Friday at the going rate.
I actually got my packages sorted via customer complaints phoning me!
Now got 30mb BB : M phone : V+HD and a V HD multi-room XL-TV for £59.74pm on a new 12 month contract. Plus there's a one off £79 charge. £30 for the BB upgrade and £49 for activating the new V+ box.
I managed to get them to wave the installation fee for the new box as seemingly they don't post second boxes and have to be installed. So I did get something of a little victory.
Roll on Friday
The VM lady's last sentence to me before leaving was " Don't believe everything you read in forums". I wonder what she meant by that?

Re: [Update] ALL 20>30Mb upgrade discussion
I told her every bugger was getting summat for nowt and I wanted on the gravy train or else! She said or else what? I said or else I'll pay the going rate.
I just mentioned how it sucked that people were commenting in forums how they were managing to get "special deals" and others had to pay the normal going rate. I still think there should be a fixed price with no deals for anyone.
It's not like you're forced to have these facilities, to me they're a luxury unlike water/gas/electric.
Just checked when my area gets upgraded.. Not till June! Typical! lol
On another note.
Are there diagrams that come with the new hub? As in where you plug everything?
I ask cos I've never had a router. At the moment I have a PC with 2 network cards. One from the modem and the second going to a netgear gigabit ethernet switch (GS605) and from that cables go to my other PC/laptop/xbox360/ps3. I have no wireless connections (mainly cos I can't work out how to do it LOL).
I'd really like to just replace the modem with the new hub and keep the netgear switch.
Thanks

Re: [Update] ALL 20>30Mb upgrade discussion
I ordered the upgrade on Friday (4th) and the guy on the phone said it would be with me today, I never got no confirmation email, or even told who the courier was. Needless to say nothing has showed up no hub or missed delivery card.
I think I'll phone them in the morning to confirm whats happening

I think it's less a case of designing in issues (seeing as the hardware is modified Netgear CG3xxx series in a VM logo case) and more a case of complete oversight, combined with rushing to get the product out. I'd rather have waited until March and had a much improved Super Hub with bridge mode already built in so I wouldn't have to moan, but obviously in terms of "New For 2011" business plays and reordering of the broadband tier system that doesn't work.
I do however believe VM when they say the Super Hub is their most successful product yet because most people have little to no idea about computer systems. Because it's simple. However, that does prove most people going for the fastest tiers which need the EuroDOCSIS 3 of the Super Hub actually get very little benefit because their internet use can be classed as "light". In my experience, the thing falls to pieces under heavy traffic whether that be LAN, WAN or both. Whereas other routers don't.

That works for the most part, but if the "one company" in question happens to be designing the kit in some way, the other company paying for the privilege would do well to listen. That's a general comment, but it applies to VM well enough.

Re: [Update] ALL 20>30Mb upgrade discussion
On my 3rd try over the last few days.
Retentions dept have upgraded me from 20mb to 30mb tonight.
No charge of £30, as I have the super hub just now.
And no Loyalty Discounts has been taken off.
Asked why on both calls before today, they wanted to take all loyalty discounts off.
I was told, as of 5pm today the system is now allowing 20mb to 30mb upgrades without the loss of any loyalty discounts. But you must renew your 12 month contract.
Line Rental 17 January - 16 February £12.24
Additional Loyalty Discount 17 January - 16 February £-3.00
Triple Combo Loyalty Discount 17 January - 16 February £-27.00
Talk Weekends 17 January - 16 February £0.00
TV Size: X L 17 January - 16 February £25.00
1 Add Set Top Box(es) 17 January - 16 February £15.00
Add Set Box(es) Discount 17 January - 16 February £-9.40
Broadband Size: X L 17 January - 16 February £37.00
Total per month £49.84 (Same as before)
Im well pleased.
If your on 20mb and have a super hub just now, it's time to call them back.
If you are on 20mb without a super hub, then you will be charged £30 (for the hub) and you will keep your loyalty discounts.
The speed upgrade was done in mins, and I asked for my account to be noted with the fact there is no change to my monthly fee, and no charge for the hub as I already had one.
The retentions guy (uk) gave me both his name and dept.
