Re: New Traffic Management updated
interesting uplifted customers have a more restrictive downstream STM.
on a service that is expected to be mostly downloading, they can download and upload the same amount during the evenings.

Re: New Traffic Management updated
Most congestion has, until recently, been on the upload. What happens now since upgrade of 20Mb to 30Mb remains to be seen. Channel bonding should make things better though.

Re: New Traffic Management updated
Very interesting, I wonder what reasoning they have for this.

yep but that upload STM looks incredibly generous for VM considering their upstream congestion, and that it matches the downstream limit as well makes it stand out.

Re: New Traffic Management updated
I'm guessing it must be a mistake, or someone insanely stupid was put in charge of the STM.

Re: New Traffic Management updated
You are quoting 2 different STM's The first is for those with the upstream uplift, the second is for those who don't have it yet.
That could be the reason for the difference.

Except it isn't.
The previous page (a few days ago) only showed caps for people with the upstream uplift. It's now been updated with data for those without upstream uplift, but those with upstream uplift have had their downstream cap *reduced*.
Chrysalis said, downstream cap for people with improved upstream is now actually lower than those without.
[Edit]
Confirmed, see google cache here:
http://webcache.googleusercontent.co...w.google.co.uk
2 days ago caps for people with upstream uplift were 5000 down, 4200 up. Now it's 4200 in both directions.

I knew i was right, i don't understand why increasing the upload speed requires them to increase the cap for download.

Re: New Traffic Management updated
I quite happy with download 10Gb (10am to 3pm) with 4.2Gb in evening (4pm to 9pm) and upload is fair play at 4.2Gb (3pm to 8pm)
Unlimited is from 3pm to 4pm (download only) and between 21:01 and 09:59 7 days a week (both download and upload)
So 10GB (download) and 4.2Gb (upload) is fair traffic management on time slots.
