Re: Virgin media price increase

i agree with jb66, if you're strugging to make ends meet you dont take luxury, you get basic.

Why not get Plusnet broadband for £6.49 per month and use Freeview?

I can afford, but don't particularly enjoy paying out £96 a month, £87.56 is much better

Re: Virgin media price increase

We go through this everytime there is a price change. The contract makes it clear if the service price changes then you can cancel that service without an EDF if you are in contract

I would remind everyone though, that it's ONLY the affected service - not the entire contract

Re: Virgin media price increase

Well my latest bill shows the VAT increase which VM can do nothing about, those who are struggling may need to look at their packages and cut back a little e.g. move TV L to TV M?

Re: Virgin media price increase

Perhaps the reason for the hike in VIP pricing is to keep the bundle as the VIP bundle and have Sky Premium channels enabled in HD on both boxes?

I would probably stay if that was the case.

What service is it that's jumping up so high in price?

Re: Virgin media price increase

Considering the amount of things VIP has in it, it's probably a few different things like Talk Plan, Line Rental and TV

Here comes the Fan boy statements. If your going to get involved in the debate at least make it an intelligent answer, Instead of having a dig at staff because you have a chip on your shoulder with them.

Re: Virgin media price increase

I really hope there is no more increases with the phone.

It has only just dawned on me I pay £23 for the line, XL calls and caller id.

That seems awful expensive to me.

@Ben: if the contract was taken as a whole at the same time eg bb and phone and the price of the phone line goes up, isn't the contract as a whole been changed and therefore, the whole contract should be able to be cancelled?

@everyone else: if you are out of contract or even still in contract, give VM a kick in the balls. Phone them up and ask them to be competitive. I did and I got 10Mb L BB + M phone + new D-Link router for £14.60/month. The new BB contract is for 12 months and on the phone it is 18 months. I have a feeling that VM will try to get their own back after 12 months and will increase the price of the BB element and I will be forced to swallow the increase as the phone is still in contract until a further 6 months. But I guess I have a year or so until that happens ...
