Didn't realise that and hadn't read all of what was posted this morning, just saw the post that included VMs terms and conditions, quoted what was relevant to me and posted prematurely.
My apologies to you Horizon and I do appreciate the help and advice that you offer.

Re: 20 Mb/s to 30Mb/s free upgrade
.....no problemo.
As said try again next Monday and hopefully all will be well. Things are a stewing at VM and sometimes the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing, hence all the confusion.

Re: 20 Mb/s to 30Mb/s free upgrade
Those who have DOCSIS3 kit will already be on the DOCSIS3 network. Those upwards migrating from older kit will still be on DOCSIS1. Therefore the £30 fee is to cover activation and migration from one platform to the other, and in addition you get an equipment swap if required. As those customers who already have eligible kit will already be on the DOCSIS3 platform, this is why no fee will incurred, though when any proactive uplift to 30mb will occur for these people remains to be seen, it may not necessarily be from today.

Re: 20 Mb/s to 30Mb/s free upgrade
whizzard - we're not talking about a massive proactive uplift here though. It's only been for the last 6 weeks or so that the superhub has been available for the 20mb tier. So we're talking several hundred, perhaps a thousand customers max who are in this situation. I really don't understand why VM didn't flick the switch today and avoided all this confusion.

Re: 20 Mb/s to 30Mb/s free upgrade
so all in all you will get 10 meg more that in all honesty you will hardly notice,
the monthly cost has dropped by £1.50
a new 12 month contract
and over the year will cost £17.50 more
i think ill stick with 20meg for now

You will not notice a 50% increase in your speed, either you are joking or your machine is not up to it.

I guess if he just uses webpages he won't notice, but then he should be on 10mbit then.

Even just basic browsing you can tell the difference in the way a page loads or a video plays so a 50% increase in speed should really be noticeable for a few days at least.
Then again I have my Firefox running at full speed as well by playing around with it.

What misinformation??? Check my sig and see who I work for.
It will happen but maybe not for a while yet. But as they are replacing 20Mb with 30Mb, all customers with elligable equipment will eventually be moved to 30Mb.
You will only stay on 20Mb if you have an older modem or hub.

Agreed I have my pc wired into my modem and currently on 20 mb notice a massive difference from 10 mb . I got a call today from Executives office who sorted my upgrade he said 30mb for £18.50 so I'm even £1.50 better off now that's a result. He told me my router would arrive between 8-12 Thursday I'm now confused if this is an engineer visit or through a courier.

Yes i would expect it to be a freebie. If you already have a Superhub, why should you pay £40 to upgrade to a package which is costing you more every month, only an idiot would charge a customer to upgrade to a package that is giving them more money.

Re: 20 Mb/s to 30Mb/s free upgrade
My apologies, I read it (mistakenly) as it was a £40 increase in monthly rental that was being objected to (hence my "freebie" comment), rather than the one off cost.
