Never asked, but I always assume it will be whenever I change any part of my services.
Honestly, I don't care either way. I haven't switched providers in 12 years and only ever phoned 'retentions' once in that time so it's not like I'm going anywhere else

Identical experience here. the whole process from dialing the number to putting the phone down lasted all of 4 minutes!!!

Re: 20 Mb/s to 30Mb/s free upgrade
Just ordered.
However being at work, I'm unable to access my email.
Will I need to ring up, or is it all being done without the need of calling them up?
Alternatively, will they call if anything?
Sorry about the questions

Re: 20 Mb/s to 30Mb/s free upgrade
For those of you who are getting the superhubs you'll have the "pleasure" of activating them via the Indian call centres. Have fun! But apart from that, the process was seamless when I got mine and on Christmas Eve too.

You need to check your email because when i did it on the 18th of Jan i got an email on the 19th asking me to phone them, this was probably due to the system saying i needed a manned install.

Thanks for the reply!
Ah yes, I remember ringing up before and the call centre lady was thinking "What the hell". That was a funny and weird conversation.
Will let you know later at about 5 how things went.

why cant do online activation, far more efficient.
if I dont get a uk rep for activation I will consider returning to sender and £30 refund.

Re: 20 Mb/s to 30Mb/s free upgrade
Just rang the 0800 number to see if I deffo needed a tech and the nice young lady said as the 30mb is a new rollout everyone upgrading will be needing a technician to come and make sure it's working OK. lol. I didn't bother arguing it, it'll still be here on Thurs - just brought by VM man instead of HDNL man. Was just trying to save someone the bother to be honest.

Re: 20 Mb/s to 30Mb/s free upgrade
I'm presuming those who do go down the 50Mb route will probably get credited the £20 if you ring up?

Ah, I've just had a look on the broadband section of the Virgin Media site, and XL is now 30Mb.
Good move for new customers
Apologies if this has been covered before, but this thread advances a page everytime I have a look at it (hard to keep up)
