I thought the old modems were capable of up to 36mbps? still for Â£30 I'll prob upgrade at some point

The old modems are capable of up to 50mbps but not in the way VM need them to ensure a decent level of service.

Its clear to see the benefit for VM, modems using bonded channels will have auto load balancing, currently 20mbit users on docsis3 are assigned one channel and as such can cause balancing issues, I have seen this first hand as sometimes have to hop channels to get a uncongested downstream.

XL 30Mb stand alone without virgin phone will cost Â£28.50 per month ? With virgin phone line with UW the price will be Â£31.49 plus activation charge Â£30.00

L 10Mb will increase from Â£20.25 to Â£21.00 stand alone without virgin phone and the price with virgin phone line with UW will be go up to Â£26.49 (no activation charge)

That's not all though. If you are a recent install of 20mb with a superhub already then you won't need to pay the Â£30 charge afaik.

No not true, no matter if you are 20Mb or still have superhub, still have to pay activation charge Â£30.00. Virgin want money just like activation one off charge for 30Mb, 50Mb and 100Mb.
