Just got my discount extended for a further 6 months (I'm on VIP50) after emailing Neil Berkett this afternoon and then getting a phone call from a very nice and apologetic lady within the hour. I asked her if there was any news yet on the revamped VIP packages and wether TIVO would be included in one of them but she said there is nothing concrete yet.

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
I just want 100% confirmation from someone on here who knows what they are talking about in regards to the VIP bundle.
I had the £7 added to my bill for HD channels that I was previously getting a credit for due to the complaint like a lot of us made to the Exec office.
So I called 150 - through to billing (overseas) and said I wanted to know why I was being charged for this now. After many minutes on hold he came back to say he could only presume it was a 6 month deal as there were no notes on my account about it. I said well I was told it was on until the VIP bundle had been relaunched in Q1 2011. I said well how could you presume it was a 6 month deal then when there is no notes about it and he admitted he could see the previous credits.
So I said as he wasn't budging and I wasn't happy to just remove the premium HD add on. He said he could not as it was part of the bundle??!?!? I said I didn't think it was but he was sure and telling me to check the website etc. I was not able to as I was off out for the weekend and just got back to see no mention of premium HD as part of the VIP(20) bundle.
So am I able to bin the £7 charge and continue as normal?

It's not part of a bundle. It's still currently a "bolt-On" subscription to Sky Sports/Movies.
I'd call back and speak to Customer Relations if you don't get anywhere with Customer Care.

Excuse my ignorance but what is the difference between Customer Relations and Customer Care? (Just incase I ever have to call for any reason.)

Customer Relations is if you are thinking of disconnecting your services.

You don't have to be thinking of leaving to talk to customer relations. You can talk to them if you're not happy with the responce you get from customer Service.
I spoke to them several months ago because I wasn't happy with the CS response to an issue I had. I told them upfront I wasn't thinking of leaving, but was unhappy with the CS response. They sorted it out to my satisfaction.
As a very longstanding customer, they told me to always go to them if I had any issues. They can do things that CS can't. TBH, I vary rarely have issues with my VM service.

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
This morning I had to have a visit from a Tech, as my old but faithful SA V+ box (with which I have been more than happy) finally gave up the ghost. He replaced it with a shiny new Samsung. Over the years, I have read a lot on these forums about how much quicker and more responsive the Samsung box was, compared to the SA. I admit to not really believing the hype and thought much of it was exaggeration. Well, I was wrong! The Sammy is just streets ahead of the SA, I am really impressed!
Anyway, to the point, I am on the VIP 50 package and have a second box in another room which is an old (it has NTL on the front!) Samsung ordinary box. When VM eventually get around to letting us have Tivo, would I be able to put that where my V+ is now, put the V+ where the old box is now and lose that box? After all I had to pay the install fee for the V+, so would like to think I will be able to keep it.
If I am able to do this, is it likely to be a higher monthly fee than just having a Tivo and a V box?

Yes you can do that, or you can call up and get a V HD box right now to replace the Samsung for a one off delivery fee with no activation charge as you are on VIP

Thanks Ben, although I'll probably wait for Tivo in that case and go with my original plan!

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
Please please please the next time I call to just swap my standard def box for a standard HD box can I have someone in Customer services that knows what they are talking about.
How much custom are you lot loosing with some of these idiots you have there.
I asked if I could swap my standard def box for the V HD box. First I was asked why I wanted to do this, was I not happy with my Broadband. Finally managed to explain it was a TV box I wanted to swap.
I was first quoted £49 for an install. I said I only want to swap one box for another so can I do a self install.
I was quoted £69.95. Who are these people, and why don't they know what they are talking about.
I am on VIP50. Please someone tell me what I want to do it possible and how much if anything it is going to cost.
Thank you.

It's £49 for the HD activation and then £20 for self install ( to cover courier of new box and return of old box)

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
Yes but I am VIP 50 so why should I pay for the HD activation when it actually part of my package.

It's not. You are asking for a upgrade to a box you already have. Everyone has to pay to HD activation fee. You then get the basic HD channels on that box as part of your subscription.
