Well im happy to say we have a Superhub! Haven't got down to configuring it or anything as of yet, but everything seems to be working great.

Looking to upgrade to 50mb from 10 any second now, just want to be sure we're getting a superhub.
(My current router drops when there are too many connections made!)

Are we now Guaranteed to get a Superhub? Or is it better to wait for a week, for all the older stock to run out?

Much better if the existing router exceeded the spec of the Netgear componenet of the gateway.

It wasn't supposed to arrive until Monday, but here it is today (Saturday), a large Virgin Media box with my new V+ TV Box and the Superhub. I won't have time to play with them until later though. I think their evil ploy is starting to have an effect as I am now very tempted to ask for a 50MB connection, especially since it seems to be cheaper than my current 20MB one...

Could quite feasibly be a Super Hub as since the start of last week they are being offered to customers on tiers XL/XXL/100.

Yes, it's definitely a Superhub. I am thinking of calling CS in a day or two, to see what price they can offer me for upgrading to 50MB.

I just got given a superhub as was having problems with my old modem. I have to say, I'm actually pretty impressed. This will be the fist time I seriously consider selling my stand alone router as this all in one is actually quite good. Ok so it's a bit big but thats ok since it does everything in one unit. Looks quite smart. No external antenna. I had a quick look earlier in the admin pages and am shocked and happy to find that they actually bundled in just about all of the features I would want to use. I seriously think I could get by with this. I can see options to set all the things I care about including:

Wireless Mac Address Filtering
Static IP routing (custom DHCP range and address reservation)
Filter/rules by IP and/or mac so you can stop certain clients accessing the internet
Ability to change SSID and wireless settings in detail
Basic logging and backup/status features but enough
UPNP
Port forwarding
Port triggering
Content filtering
guest network

I also note that this has just the 4 ports on it and does away with the WAN port all together for external routers. I assume you can still use it as a modem if you wanted? And finally, finally....they have seen sense and not cheaped out. The 4 ports are gigabit!! Yes gigabit! Not sure if it supports jumbo frames as could not see any settings relating to this, but I think thats asking a bit much and dont expect it to.

So far so good...I think....maybe I will spot something bad. Lets see how stable it is.

I don't think our current router would support a 50MB connection so the Superhub already having a router would save me buying a separate one. Since I can connect the Superhub myself, is it possible to upgrade from 20MB to 50MB without an engineer's visit? Can all the tweaks be done from VM's end instead?

You have to have a manned install for all upgrades to 50Mb and 100Mb where available.
