Re: Traffic Management Policy
Well, as a brand new Virgin Media customer, I had a 50Mb broadband install booked for 18th Nov. Thanks to this traffic management I've just cancelled the whole thing. It such a shame as I was so looking forward to it. Why the heck did Virgin ruin their 'gold standard service' ? If someone is paying a premium price they should get a premium service. For the time being I'll stick with 3Mb Sky. At least its cheap & reliable. My sympathies for those stuck on long contracts. Hopefully things will improve.

Re: Traffic Management Policy
I wouldn't call what customers pay for 50Mb a premium price really, something like £100+ would be premium.

I've found the gamefiles site to be quite unreliable lately. It used to give me a good indication of speed, but recently our 10 MB line has been really stable and performing at full speed, so I've been able to max it out with torrents as a test, yet when I go to the gamefiles site I get a quarter of the speed I used to, yet when I cancel the download and immediately test the speed with a torrent, it will max out.

Yeah tech support are recommending to avoid gamefiles at the moment, it's a rather old thing and feeling a bit worse for wear. Bless.

Re: Traffic Management Policy
Just thought i would update, i played some Black Ops last night and no lag, funnily enough i got home tonight, no internet, so rebooted modem and my upload has been upgraded so i suspect the lag i was experiencing may have been related.

It's not shaped. Due to how the shaping is implemented people won't even be going through the shaping kit to get to gamefiles.

Ask VM to put option (upgrade to super premium non-traffic management for extra cost) I will accept it if they willing do this!

Re: Traffic Management Policy
One of these days VM will actually explain how they came up with 75% instead of the usual "to help other users get a fair connection" excuse, when all customers should be getting a fair connection anyway :P
Thieving gits >.<

And what problems would you have with that tier.
