Factory Reset

Does anyone know how to factory reset a Sony Vaio NR38E. I don't want to create any recovery discs, I just want to make the laptop how it was when I fist bought it brand new. I don't have any installation discs.

Re: Factory Reset

With luck it has a restore partition so this is worth a try:

Power on the machine and when the Sony logo appears press f10 repeatedly. If you get the timing right the restore options should appear.

When I press F10 when the Sony Vaio logo appears, I get a black 'Edit Boot Option' page (it doesn't look like a restore page). The page Says Windows 7 at the top and has 'Enter = Subit' at the bottom, but when I press enter, it just loads Windows 7.

Re: Factory Reset

That's not good. <Enter> at that point should take you into the restore options.

Do you still have the option to create recovery disks?

It won't even let me create recovery discs.

Do you know where I can buy a Sony VGN-NR38E S Recovery disc online?
