Crashing PC

Hi,

Youtube seems to be upsetting my computer, everytime i go to watch a online video it crashes, only online though if it's through VLC or iTunes it's fine.

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with my graphics but im no expert, i have a 4650 hd ATI, i never had the latest drivers when it started to do this but i do now and it is still doing it.

Do you guys have anythoughts ?

When i say crash i mean it just reboots like someone hitting the reset button.

More than likely to be your flash player, try updating it and/or reinstalling it

uninstall and reinstall flash as kymmy has said, if it is still doing it after that try watching a video on Liveleak and see if it does on there aswell if it doesn't then it is something to do with your pc and youtube, but other than flash not sure what it could be as you say it's fine when watching through VLC etc so that is telling me it's not a heat issue on your graphic's card, maybe a codec conflict or something other than flash.

Thanks, and come to think of it i have not long done a update for flash and think it might have started then.

Hi, after some time and alot of re-installin nothing worked i even resorted to reformatting windows and that still didnt cure the problem.

i have now loaded w7 on a partiton and that seems to work fine, only problem my comp is'nt man enough to run it properly so cant really keep it like this.

i read somewhere else to try using different browsers the didnt work either.

nothing is ever straight forward is it?

I've seen Flash player upsetting a computer - even after a reformat before - turned out to be faulty RAM

i'm still on DDR (1) but i do have 2½ Gb's worth, but if it was RAM do you think that it would also not work on windows 7 or is that not the case ?

My PC kept randomly rebooting when I tried to logon to the internet and run streamed videos. It turned out my graphics card was faulty,replaced it and no more reboots.

Do you have a spare graphics card you could try in it?

There are no plans for future releases as the bus is simply too slow for modern OS`s like Vista and Win7 other brands may supply them, but ATI nor Nvidia are looking to go down that route im afraid. [JAMES 11/8/2010 11:48:23 AM] Hi Barry, got this from another forum: `OK. Although I had done this before, I tried again removing all traces of the ATI driver in safe mode and rebooting. I opened Device Manager, right-clicked on the VIA CPU to AGP Controller, and chose to update the driver automatically. A new driver was installed, from where I don`t know for sure. I then manually updated the Standard VGA driver to the ATI AGP hotfix` The hotfix has been released several times, but unsure if it is appropriate for this issue, but i will link the page and you can assess this for yourself. http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles...AGPHotfix.aspx kind regards, James.

has you computer got an on board GF's ? if so take out the ATI board to see if its ok without the board

i was thinkin the asus one but it's still ATI HD4650, do u think asus has done anything to it different to XFX or have they both just slap there name on the side of the same card ?
