Swap std v-box for V+ cost?

Just called CS & been quoted £69 one-off payment + additional £10 per month to replace my 2nd v-box (non-HD) for a V+ (note I already have 1 V+).
I am on VIP bundle. Is this extra £10pm correct? Seems a bit steep. I'm happy to pay the one-off fee which seems reasonable.
They also quoted £69 one-off + no additional monthly fee for the V-HD box.
Anyone done the same for less?

Re: Swap std v-box for V+ cost?

That seems wrong to me, have you got the 20mb bb. As this is what i had before and upgraded to the VIP 50 ( all the same but the 50mb bb ). when i did this i posted about the new deals that new custs are getting 50mb bb, v+, vhd box and also the same phone and got all the charges waived so it may be worth calling retentions and asking about the vip50.

The first time that i called about the vip 50 they said that i would have to pay for the box and install and i said that i would think about it, called back 10 mins later and upgraded and got the charges waived ( also on the vip 50 you get the sky sports and movies in HD ) all for £96.50 per month.

Hope this helps

Re: Swap std v-box for V+ cost?

Thanks devilincarnate - I am already on vip50 at £96.50 pm which is why I'm a bit reluctant to pay another £10pm for a second V+, seems a bit excessive when I already have and am paying for a second non-HD v-box. I may go for the v-HD swap & try to get them to waive the £69 one-off payment as new customers get this anyway as you rightly say.

Re: Swap std v-box for V+ cost?

I thought that to replace the standard box with a V+ on VIP was simply the install cost, either £20 for self-install or £40 for engineer install, plus an extra £10 per month.

Within VIP the charging is different, the extra £10 per month effectively replacing the one-off activation cost for V+ in other non-VIP bundles.

Also to swap the standard box for a V HD box, all that is required is the install or deliver fee - the activation fee is waived
