Well done to the dog, The dog should have done some serious damage to the dirty old *.
Being that l was brought up with dogs, they will always protect the owner, who cares and loves for the animal, well done, l think that a dog food company should give the animal some lovelly treats.

Re: Rottie foils sex attacker
I'm sure Jake will be mightily pleased with his award, and other dogs quite jealous. As a result, I expect more dogs to follow Jake's lead and take action against these horrible sex attacks. Everybody wins (except the sex attackers of course).
Seriously: it's a nice story, but why give a bravery award to a bloody dog? It's a dog! It won't notice, and neither will other dogs...

It might notice the medal, if it's made of food, besides it makes a nice change to hear a story about a rottweiler that doesn't involve it eating a small child!

OK, so it will notice the medal, but certainly not a a reward for an act of 'bravery'. Other dogs will most certainly not notice. As I said earlier: it's a nice story, but apart from highlighting the story, giving awards to dogs is utterly pointless.

Yeah it'll probably eat it regardless of whether it's made of food or not. Speaking of awards for animals, have you seen this down Park Lane?
http://www.animalsinwar.org.uk/
This monument is a powerful and moving tribute to all the animals that served, suffered and died alongside the British, Commonwealth and Allied forces in the wars and conflicts of the 20th century.
Pretty cheap to at only 2 million quid and I bet their relatives are well pleased with it, well the feathered ones at least, it's another place for them to go toilet...

Just because he's a dog. it doesn't mean he won't know it's for being brave.

That's a monument, not an award... It's meant for people to reflect on the role of animals used in wars by humans. Not for animals to have something to be proud of and look up to.

Yes thanks for the definition. My point is though, it's a lot more ridiculous, I don't mean that to sound heartless and am only to well aware of how many horses suffered and died during WWI, it's just that 2 million quid would have been spent better on living animals suffering today.
