V+ recordings transfer to PC?

Hi guys

I have a V+ box and it is the best piece of kit that I have plugged in since my ZX Spectrum! I know that you can transfer recordings to a DVD recorder but can you transfer them to a PC/laptop's hard drive and then burn them to DVD at leisure? As I don't own a DVD recorder I was wondering if a PC can be used and how you would go about it (software, cables etc.).

Cheers for you help!

Baker Boy

Re: V+ recordings transfer to PC?

the only way would be to get a tv input cable for your PC...somewhere like maplin, or pcworld should be able to sort you out.

Re: V+ recordings transfer to PC?

Not just a cable but a whole analogue capture card. If you are looking at a way of transfering the digital data directly from the V+ box to the PC via ethernet or usb then I'm afraid you are out of luck-there is currently no way of doing this.

Re: V+ recordings transfer to PC?

Hi Jem,

A mate of mine has just referred me to this forum, after I posted the same question baker boy posted, on Facebook just 5 mins ago.

Has this changed, seeing as this original post was 3 years ago? Can we now record from v+ to PC?

I do hope so, because like him, I can't afford a DVD Recorder either!

Please update, thanks

Something like this works:

You'll also need a scart adaptor which you can pick up for a couple of quid from ebay.

I bought something very similar to this (It says 'EasyCAP' on it instead of 'EZCAP') and unfortunately didn't work on the V+

I checked it wasn't a duff one by using it on a VHS player and it worked fine so can only assume there's something the V+ throws out that this product doesn't like

It works fine for me. Did you use the software that came with it?

Re: V+ recordings transfer to PC?

This might work, if you have a SA cable box with component output.
