We're moving house soon and as soon as we know the date will be ringing up VM to start moving services over. However I just had a quick question.
The new place has been using VM so all the cables are in already so I presume I'll just take my box/modem and plug in?
If I decide that I want for example the TV point moved to the other side of the room will I be charged for that?
1) If you haven't got a transferred in number from another provider, and all the points are in the right place then yes I believe you can just plug it all in yourself
2) No, it would be included as part of the install - obviously for that you would need an engineer install
Thanks for the reply. How about if when we first move we'd be happy doing it ourselves but then at a later date we'd want to move the TV point. Basically thinking that we may not have decided where the TV is going to permanantly go until a few weeks into the move so may want to move a point later on. Would that incur a charge?
If you have a engineer out at a later date, yes it would cost. Current call out fee is £99
I would suggest getting them out at your move, and just getting them to give you lots of cable in the room (assuming that it's going in the same room as where the point currently is)
