Any idea how we could get CS/RT to acknowledge this?
I've asked a few times and even asked them to read Maestro News as you suggested, only to be answered with "read what now?".

I am waiting for VIP 50, tried to get my 2 V boxes upgraded to HD no problem but they wanted £49 to cover installation
Didn't bother

Although you get the V HD activation fee waived on the VIP bundles, you do still have to pay to gave them installed/delivered - unless you are going for an offer that includes free install e.g. the VIP 50 upgrade.
Though if you are having two or more V HD boxes installed, you have to pay for per box installation of the second V HD box onwards

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
I thought the £20 one off fee offer ended at the end of August. Re the V HD box I got mine for no charge at the begining of May I posted this at the time:-
Had a tech out this a.m. to resolve a problem with my Samsung V Box (am on VIP package so also have V+ box),box change required, whilst the guy was doing the box swap I asked him about V HD boxes and prices, he made a phone call and said cost to change my V Box is £49, no extra cost per month plus £35 install but if I wanted it doing now the install cost would be waived, so box was swapped for a V HD box there and then and I will be billed on my next bill £49 only, due to the confusion surrounding this I await my next bill with bated breath ( it took me 3 hours on the phone to sort my billing out when I originally went on the VIP Package when it first came out a couple of years ago).
The new V HD box works great by the way.
I was never charged anything for the box as I think at the time broken boxes were being swapped for V HD boxes for free.
I also had an email in May offering me the 50Mb broadband for £55 installation and activation fee

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
Is the VIP50 only available to existing VIPs, or can anyone jump on-board this rocky road?

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
Hi
I am a newbie but have read the forum for some time now.
I have Sky + in one room on basic entertainment package and Virgin in another room with a V+ HD box -again basic entertainment pack no premium channels. I have 20mb BB (XL) and tel (M) with virgin. I was paying just under £80pm for this (including line rental ) and tel call charges were usually about £25-£30pm on top of that.
I want to go full HD in both rooms and upgrade to sky sports & movies and decided it would be more cost effective to get everything through 1 provider.
I rang Sky- they offered me a free install for 2 new SKY + HD boxes and then £90pm for full Sky World pack with HD for both boxes(multiroom). I didn't realise that sky also charge for HD per box (£10 per box). It would have been an extra £18.50 for 20mb BB and unlimited calls. A total of £108.50pm.
unfortunately Sky admitted that due to my distance from the nearest telephone exchange the best BB i would be likely to get would be less than 2mb. This is insufficent for me so i rang Virgin.
Virgin have offered me a 2nd V+ HD box with free instalation (normally £100) and VIP20 package XL BB 20mb- XL phone- XL TV pack with Sky Sports and movies in HD on both boxes for £97.44pm. This is £11 cheaper than the equivalent sky package and a vastly superior BB
I am probably going to take virgin up on this as sounds pretty good to me. Hopefuly the XL phone pack will reduce our call charges so for about roughly what i am currently paying to sky and virgin for basic tv I will get upgrade to sports and movies in HD on 2 V+ boxes.
Do people agree it is a decent deal ??

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
Wondering if someone could help me out.
I was on the vip with 20MB at the begining of march. then i upgraded to 50MB the last week in march, what i want to know is i have the standard set-top box on the bedroom should this now be changed to a V-HD box at know charge other then the install charge. as when i ring up they seem to want £49 for it witch to be honest i would pay just don't want to pay for some that is ment to be free.
Thanks in advanced.

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
Always wonder what the £49 "Activation Fee" covers, what is the breaksdown of this cost, what do VM actually have to do for their £49? Seems a little excessive to me
