Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
I've just been on the phone with CS trying to upgrade from VIP20 to VIP50 for just the £20 activation fee (and the £5.x pm extra) but they were adamant there would be a £35 installation fee too. Even reading to her, verbatim, what Mark Wilkin had posted on their support forum and referencing this thread, both the girl I spoke to & her manager insisted they'd have to charge an installation fee and that "the offer has probably run out".
I asked to be transferred to Retentions whereby the helpful chap there had everything sorted within ten minutes and an appointment booked for the 31st.

I am upgrading to 50Meg from 20Meg on Sat and ordered it before they came out with the free HD for 50Meg so do i need to do anything after the install of the 50Meg about my HD sports and Movies as i have them now but am paying the £7.

Hopefully the guy at retentions made these two short-sighted CS agents aware of the deal.
I can't understand why now after the VIP 50 offer has been about for a week now that some CS staff have not got a clue the VM-CS agents who post on CF all know about it and have done since the offer began, so why not the likes of the above??

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
It includes everything the VIP20 package includes, but with 50 Mb broadband and the Sky Movies HD package.

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
The twitter team seem to have solved my problem
Quote:
Thanks for taking the time to get in touch with us, I did try to contact you via telephone however my attempts were unsuccessful.
Looking at your account I seen that your original order was not process correctly, so at no point have the Sky HD channels even been added to your account. That has now been corrected by myself and you should have access to those channels very shortly. At the same time as seeing this error I found that the VIP50 discount also had not been added, so I've also rectified this in time for your bill being produced.
In regards to your router and USB adapter, I'm confused at why you were told someone would drop them off in a few days? Usually for this to happen your original order would have been either left open or split, this way someone could see you needed the equipment. To rectify this in the quickest way I've order both pieces of equipment to be delivered to your home address. All being well you should receive these before the weekend, however should you need some help just drop me a tweet or email.
I'm confident that this should resolve all of your issues, however do let me know if I've missed something off.
Thanks again for getting in touch with us.
Kind Regards
Billy McDermott

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
Hi all
Got my VIP20 to VIP50 upgrade today ... or rather I got half of it .. engineer didnt know anything about swapping the V box for a VHD box which i added to the installation a couple days after booking the 50Mb upgrade.
Phone call later and sorted .. CS wanted me to pay £15 postage and install myself but managed to get the postage knocked off but still gotta install myself when box arrives.
So a result ... despite a round about way of doing it ... just gotta test 50Mb connection now to make sure it truely is .. highest test so far has been 3.1MB (31Mb)

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
I rang retentions yesterday about a billing error and I mentioned the Talk Unlimited (which was supposed to have been lowered to Evening & Weekends).
I was told that it was kept because having triple XL was cheaper than having evening & weekends, which I can understand. But then I was told I am on the VIP package even though I changed my package to plain triple XL in order to avoid the £10 a month for a second V+HD box.
Any chance I could do this deal then or (as I expect) have I been misinformed?

Its got to be worth a try, you have a lot to gain and nothing to lose, I'd chance my arm.
Let us know how you get on, and good luck.

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
If anyone is still paying the £92.49 a month rate for VIP20 I'd advise a call to retentions. I've just spoken to them about the price difference with the advertised £89.50 a month, and straight away they said they could drop me to this rate and refund the difference for 6 months. They said the discount was not automatically applied, as you need to take a new 12 month contract to qualify. As I've just entered a new contract to get the £7 a month 6 month discount from the CEO office I didn't argue.
I've put this saving towards adding the Sky HD channels to my 2nd box. Between this saving and the £7 a month 6 month one, it's only cost me an extra £4 a month to add the HD premiums to both boxes. Happy with that for 6 months, and we'll see what the new and improved VIP pack brings next year

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
I rather have upgraded and got the VIP50 for £5 more.when the offer has finished at the end of the month I wouldn't think they will offer this package without having to pay the install and activation, doing it early will insure what ever they decide we won't have to pay anymore for it .

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
Just recieved a "Whats happening letter"
Im on the VIP20 + XXL BB + 3rd Box (V+)
I haven't upgraded to VIP50 as I was given £14 pounds off then they added the Sky HD pack I believe the difference me and big red worked out was 49p so I didn't phone to change to VIP50.
The letter says that their will be a £2 sky sport increase which I knew about. They are removing the ebilling discount which I didn't know about.
But here's the better bit it says they are increasing my discount by £5.99 Really its only a £2.99 after the two things above have been applied.
Currently paying 107.99 (Including Ebilling) but from 1st October it will be £105 which is cheaper than VIP50 + 3rd V+ I believe so well done Virgin Media I'm happy for the moment lets wait and see about XXXL BB and Tivo boxes!
