I'm suprised, though, that 1) ITV thinks they would be worth that sort of money (i.e only Xl customers will get them "free") and 2) Sky (and sooner rather than later VM) would be willing to spend that cash on them.

It has not been confirmed yet - As Virgin told Digital Spy.

It is presently unclear when the channel will become available on Virgin Media, with a spokesman for the firm just saying "watch this space".

A guy over at ds has spoken to someone on twitter and was told its definately happening and expect an announcement imminently.

Said there were announcements about other HD channels coming in the next couple of weeks including the announcement about the Sky basic HD channels

I am being told that Sky Basic HD Channels will be with us by the end of August (2010).
