Yes i know what you mean and also do not forget that the OFT are looking in to the sale of the VMTV channels to SKY, so we do not know what is going to happen in regards to this. Also OFCOM said that they would look in to SS3/4 and also refer the movies to the competition commision. So there is alot up in the air at the moment?

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
VM better have a deal on the TiVo boxes and/or multiroom offers because the VIP package is very poor at the moment and 50mb broadband does not correct VM's overcharging of XL/VIP customers for at least the last 6 to 12 months over Sky channels and the like.

Look on any forum or any blog and check out the polls. There lies the truth. The vast majority of Virgin customers who want SS in HD will not pay extra for two measly channels.. VM football fans will lose customers to Sky who offer all 4 Sky Channels in HD at a lesser cost in all (for me anyway).
It's an own goal by VM and I am gutted to leave to the dark side after 10 years as a happy cable customer. But VM are now no better, if not worse, than Sky, so good riddance.

Loyalty Bonus? - how do you get one of those? I've been loyal for 10 years now astleast.

Don't know how you managed that but i e-mailed last week and got a no-go for an answer.
I am VIP in all but title as my services have been added over time.
XL TV,V+ and second box,20Mb broadband (which i may add i was tricked into by an overseas CSR who told me 10Mb was being stopped and i would have to upgrade ,when i initially phoned about something totally different),XL phone.
Add Sky sports last summer then a couple of months back when i saw this VIP thing coming I checked what I was paying against VIP and was only £7 difference.
When i phoned to upgrade to VIP thinking that adding sky movies would make me VIP,I was told the only way I could go VIP was to take 50Mb broadband.I have no desire for that at all and would never need faster than i've currently got and anyway that would have taken my services up by £17 not the £7 I planned.
So basically I now have all the services included in the VIP pack but am not VIP??? Add to that call divert and a virginmobile contract.
I'm disappointed and I may look at the new VIP packages (If they'll let me?) when they come out,but I'm not bothered enough about HD to pay extra.
If you've got a quality plasma (not an LCD)and you're not sitting on top of the TV the SD is excellent on skysports unlike channels like eurosport.
OK so sky movies can be a bit ropey on some shots but certainly not worth paying extra for(when you start watching film, you get involved in the plot and the picture quality doesn't cross your mind-unless the films rubbish in which case just change channel).
Maybe I could have cancelled my contract and started a new VIP contract when I added movies, maybe i should have asked on here first? Too late now anyway.

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
Just spoke to the Indian call centre they advised I would be able to downgrade my package on my phone ( talk unlimited, mobile and international ) this would save me £7.95 per month ( currently on VIP ) They also said I only have to keep the HD channels for 30 days.
If any staff on here tonight, could you tell me if I have been advised correctly?

Obviously you must be receiving a discount on your bill already ryan hence the loyalty bonus, I'm just wondering what you feel VM should offer the two sky sports HD channels to you for? taking into account that the price VM have to pay Sky £5.50ishpm.

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
Did the sums and from tonight I'll save money on VIP, as paying less on phone bill, plus getting all movies. Also by dropping picture box, I'll only have to pay £2 extra for Sky movies and sports HD. So for me any improvements to VIP will be an added bonus.

Arsenal,Celtic,Lyon and AC Milan....whatever.
The point I was feebly attempting to make is - we pay £7 for SSHD 1&2 - what's to stop them putting fings on SSHD 3&4 like the example above.
Obvs not Cov - no-one in their right mind would want to watch Cov.

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
I am currenty on the ViP package paying £89.50 per month, building the same package from "build a bundle" comes in a £1 per month cheaper,
Sent an e-mail to CEO explaining that after being a ViP customer for several years I was dissapointed in the current package and even more dissapointed in being asked to pay an extra £7 pounds (per box) for access to the Sky HD package.
Got a phone call 2 Hrs after e-mail sent offering same 6 month free package as detailed many time before on this thread. I indicated that I wasn't happy to have to be tied in to a package that has no value for money and was considering other packages on Virgin, but indicated I wait in eager anticipation on what Virgin will come up with for their revamped ViP package.
I explained that when I took out the ViP package it was the top speed BB and biggest bundles and was cheaper than building up seperatley but this is not now the case. The Virgin rep hadn't heard that it was cheaper to build the bundle than on th ViP package, but did promise to look in to it.
Another complaint made is that they will not supply me a new V HD box to replace the standard digital box we have upstairs unless it breaks and will not supply me a router as advertised for new customers. It appears that they give more deals to new customers than those who have been with Telewest / Virgin for 12 + years.

I make it £91 a month to build your own vip?
But it does seem unfair that old customers dont get the same perks as the new ones with the hd box and the n router!

XL everything + Sports + Movies + V+ on bundle builder comes to £73.51 + £11.99 line rental, which is £85.50, plus £5.50 multiroom is £91. But then you have to add talk international + talk mobile (£1.50 each) which is another £3, taking it up to £94.
