Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
Personally I feel that as the VIP package has been so badly devalued I don't think it would be right to increase the price at all. NO PRICE INCREASE
To redress what should already be the case I would like to see the following included:
1. Top Tier Broadband (currently 50mps)
2. Free inclusion of Sky's Premier channels.
3. Upgrade of current STB boxes to HD (I don't mind paying a resonable activation fee).
these are the basic things I would like to see as well as a promise the keep the VIP Package - VIP

Automatic upgrades to keep VIP what it is, and not have to resort to contacting them.

I declined the offer and would rather pay £7/month and get SKY Sports & Movies HD and when the new VIP deals come out then hopefully I can revert to one of those.
I asked her the questions and feel free to ask her yourself.

I don't think it's a good idea giving out that DD number for an employee
I'd go mad if someone did it to me!

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
I wouldnt worry about verbal agreements just yet as they have not even finalized what they are offering ... I was told it would be next week (probably end of next week) before what they can offer is confirmed as they were still considering the best plan and getting customer feedback.
BUT if I failed to hear correctly that the offer is 6 months free Sky Sports HD ONLY instead of the full Sky HD Sport and Movies then I actually feel insulted that they are devaluing the VIP package even further by giving half measures.
I would rather they came clean and said ... OK VIP peeps cant have Sky HD for free but as VIP subscribers we can offer it to you for £5 instead of the £7 for everyone else then I would be more impressed.
I certainly wont sign up to 6 months free Sports HD only even if its more than what i get now, I would rather have the freedom to keep my options open until the VIP revamp is announced
I know VM are reading the forums (they told me they were anyway) so peeps keep expressing your opinions so they get to hear what we want and at what cost

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
Enjoying the discussion but not on VIP any more myself went down to XL I agree it was devalued but feel it always will be. You would all like the top tier broadband XXL 50 megs added but at the end of the year isnt 100 megs due to come out, followed by 200 then 400 in the future. Do you reduce the price of the present VIP pack create a new pack for 2011 including TIVO.
Just a thought, anyway big thanks to Big Red for all the info and nice to see Virgin doing some thing positve.

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
I believe most have said they was told £7 pounds off and then get the Sky HD sub which includes everything thing
1 or 2 have been told only sport is included
So I believe its more likely to be the 1 option I may email june directly 2moro to get written confirmation.

Why? when the new/updated package is out you can take that the only thing it stops you doing is moving to sky or downgrading services. Only two people have reported sports only! june read the email with the new deal out loud to me she said she just received it

Correct.. as you won't be downgrading it shouldn't stop you getting the new VIP pack.

My conversation with June was not like that. I was offered the Sky premium package, which obviously includes sports and movies for a £7 a month credit and as I posted earlier, yes she did mention a new 12 month contract . I was quite happy to accpet that.
As for what I`d like to see on a new vip package.
50mb broadband
my old standard pace box upstairs changed for a HD one.
The premium hd channels as standard on vip

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
The reply from June that I received this afternoon just says the Sky HD package.
It also says that I will be receiving a call on or before the 2nd August when the channels go live to confirm the details.

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
Well IF they were to offer something like Sky HD Sport I would feel Im actually loosing something by not having the movies (even if its free), I know its an illusion but thats how I would feel ... funny how the mind works
I have no intention of leaving VM for Sky ... I like VM and I like the overall packages VM offer as well as the reliability (weather issues with satellites and poor broadband over telephone wires) so thats not an issue.
But I do wish to keep my options open regarding VIP as I currently vary rarely even use the telephone let alone for International calls and of course you never know what is around the corner that may require cutting some monthly expenses. That is why I would like to see the top tier broadband as part of the VIP pack as standard instead of it being left behind in the slower lane even if I dont actually need 50MB speeds its nice to know its there as standard
I feel that offering Sky Sports HD for free for 6 months and not including movies HD is a mistake .. and if that locks in a new 12 month contract to something that we dont know the contents of or the price then that is an even bigger mistake ... just IMHO and perhaps because Im a glass half empty expect the worst kind of person but I aint signing nuttin till they show me the small print

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package
A sequence of VIP deals. Keep the existing VIP package and then come up with a ultra VIP deal for those willing or are paying more. Pricing? Erm how about a gross saving of at least 10% on the individual prices?
XL TV (worth £23.50)
Sky Movies & Sports with HD on your main box included. (worth £34.50)
XXL Broadband (£37)
Picture Box (£5)
XL Phone (£11.99 plus £7.95 for talk unlimited)
Additional standard set top box (£5.50)
V+HD main (£0)
Caller ID (£2.00)
Talk International (£1.50)
Talk Mobile (£1.50)
Gross total: £130.44 RRP for Ultimate VIP £109
extra boxes £5.50 each (I have two taking me to four in total)
Sky HD premium £7 per box ( free on my 1st box, £7 each on my other 2 hd boxes)
Would make my bill £134 per month.
