which price is right

Hi hope someone can help.
Ive been with cable for five years now mostly happy.
On my bill it say's Tv Xl...£24.50 and Broard band M.....£20.50. But when i look on the virgin web page it say's Tv XL £23 and Broard band M £12.50. But when i contacted them they said its and offer but i cannot find anything to say it will go up £9.50 in 12 months to match my charges. All i can see there is a three months discount to start with . I also have talk evening and weekends £3.45. they did give me a £17.25 discount Two years ago but looking at the figures i only get £7 discount. Im i pushing it? or it worth another phone call. http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/im...s/confused.gif
Thankyou for advise

Re: which price is right

Please clarify what you are paying by detailing the Advance Charges from your bill, including all discounts.

People will then be able to comment and give advice as to any action you can take to reduce costs.

To give you an idea, the monthly price for the nearest bundle to yours (BB L, TV XL, Phone L) is £50.95, assuming DD and ebilling.

BB M is no longer available to new customers - the £12.50 price you quote is actually the BB L discounted price.

Re: which price is right

Copy of my last bill

Description Date/period Amount
Line Rental 16 June - 15 July £11.99
Talk Evening And Weekend 16 June - 15 July £3.45
Loyalty Bb/Phone/TV Discount 16 June - 15 July £-17.25
Free Voicemail 16 June - 15 July £0.00
TV Size: X L 16 June - 15 July £24.50
Broadband Size: M (10meg) 16 June - 15 July £20.50 .

Total £ 43.19

But when you look on web page prices are.
Description Date/period Amount
Line Rental £11.99
Talk Evening And Weekend £3.45
TV Size: X L £23.00
Broadband Size: L (10meg) £12.50
Total £50.94
But with my discount off -£17.25 £33.69

Do i get this discount for my 4 years loyalty or is it just a standard discount.

what i donot understand is why do i pay £24.50 for xl tv but its advertised on web page xl tv £23
Then I pay broadband M (10 meg) £20.50. but they advertise Broadband L (10 meg) for £12.50 .

I hope this is making sence?

Re: which price is right

XL TV L phone and L BB is nearly £50 thats with the VM bull plop discounts. Possibly you are on an old loyalty bonus so might be worth staying shush lol

you should be on L bb and not M as that does not exist anymore though . Didnt they upgrade people who asked for this a while ago?

Re: which price is right

I suppose you can't argue about £7.00 if you are on the M+ or L package after the recent price changes.

SKY Sports + Sky Movies

M+ old price was £33.50, new price as of 1st July £27.50 (Saving £6.00) Now add HD at £7.00 = £34.50 (£1.00 more than you used to pay)

L old price £33.50, new price as of 1st July £27.50 (Saving £6.00) Now add HD at £7.00 = £34.50 (£1.00 more than you used to pay)

XL old price £27.50, new price as of 1st July £27.50 (Saving **** all) Now add HD at £7.00 = £34.50 (£7.00 more than you used to pay)

If the £7.00 accross the board is true, nothing confirmed as of yet, XL customers will be taking the biggest shafting. M+ and L customers used to pay £6.00 more to receive their sports and movies than XL customers.

This to me would suggest XL / VIP customers will receive HD for free. I can't see anyway Virgin could explain this as a fair deal to their highest paying clients in terms of TV.

You are double discounting. You wouldn't get the £17.25 discount on top of the web prices. The bundle price you pay is instead of the bundle price from the website.

So you are paying £7.75 less than the current advertised price

Loyalty bonus? WTF?

I've been with Telewest / Virgin for 7 years and still pay the advertised website price.

I feel I'm pretty loyal. When the SKY basic channels vanished for 18 months I continued to pay my normal monthly rate, I didn't phone them demanding a monthly reduction or anything.

Maybe Virgin will take this into consideration and give me my "Premium HD" for free seeing that I've been such a good egg
