My parent's Sony Tritron CRT died hours before the world cup, we managed to get Comet to pretty much pricematch a Toshiba Freeview HD tv, the difference is massive for them, its a shame our virgin box only has a SCART (analog) connection, was hoping for HDMI so the channels didn't look so crap for them

I don't suppose virgin would replace it with a newer box that has a hdmi connection so that the picture would be digital? I know there is the V+ box but they can't afford that.

Thats just stupid at the moment I got Multiroom and I pay just £5.50 a month get the HD channels, Sky Sports, Sky Movies, XL TV on both.

I won't be paying £7 per box thats for sure. I've been waiting for Sky Sports HD and Movies for ages aswell. I'll just have to pay for it on the box box which sucks!

What package do you have?

New V HD box is free with certain packages. So is V+ box.

V HD = £49 Activation + £15 Self Install or £35 Manned Install
V+ HD = £75 Activation + £15 Self Install or £35 Manned Install
OR if they want to keep their existing box for another room
V+ HD = £49 Activation + £35 Manned Install + £5.50 a month multiroom charge

Think 10.00 is a bit steep what happens if your only taking sport do you still have to pay a tenner for 2 HD channels.

Recently I got 2 V+ boxes for free. There the old dodgy Scientific-Atlanta ones though.

An Insider has told me today that there is a rumour within Virgin Media HQ that the new hd channels will be £10.00 a month extra month for sport and movies PER BOX

hmm, i looked on virgin's site, it says the V HD costs £49 for activation and the same for V+ HD, there's no monthly cost for either on XL package. Can i really phone them up and get a V HD for free, what would i have to pay to get the V+ HD, my parents would love the recording ability.

shocking so us vip paying lot more since we did not get reduction in sports and movies like rest did might as well be will sky i hate murdoch and all he stand for least you get all sports channels in hd for same price and we be paying more than sky now too shocking
