volume settings cable conections are ok, like i said, it was working on the old xp instalation, but when i installed the new xp installation it wasnt working, drivers for my flatron m1994d monitor have been installed, realtek audio manager is installed, this is really upsetting as i have actually had it working before and now for some unknown reason it isnt working, only my independant speakers are working

Re: Sound problem

so when you say it works through some old speakers you have, are they being plugged into the same out jack as the monitor is currently in?

no their plugged into the speaker ports, i just tried what you said and the monitor ports actually work when i put them into the speaker ports, so its the analouge ports that arent working, how do i fix these because they were working on the old instalation

Re: Sound problem

and if you boot the first XP, they work again? if this is the case, it's your OS installation, not the monitor. the settings on one XP installation will not replicate to the otehr automatically - you will need to install all the relevant drivers and software on both, including checking if any flexi-jack options are the same...

Re: Sound problem

Check in the realtek HD Audio settings to make sure port assignments are correctly defined.

Re: Sound problem

As Lord Nixon says check your configuration in the Realtek dashboard. You need to have speaker configuration in 4 channel mode for 4 speaker output.
There should also be a test function.
The pics are for AC97 cpl but yours should be similar.

you dont need to have the configuration in the dashboard for 4 speaker output, they both work in 2 speaker out put simultaneously AND i havent even installed the driver for it yet either and they both work!
