2010 General Election: The Cable Forum Exit Poll
Well, here we are - election day is upon us.
Please continue all political discussion in this thread during polling and in the immediate aftermath of the result.
There is a poll attached to this thread: This poll is for you to indicate what you actually did with your vote today. It is not an opinion poll, it's an exit poll, so please either indicate the party you actually voted for, or else select one of the options to show you didn't vote. Please do not vote for a party in this poll if you didn't actually vote for them in a real polling station today (or by post or proxy, as the case may be).
All previous general election discussion threads, and their polls, are now closed, but are still available for viewing here:

I voted a week ago by postal vote but it still counts as the ballot paper was not spoilt.

Changed it now ...
JFYI, all the election threads were prepared and held in the team forum back in March, so the OP of each one has had to have its 1st posting date/time altered, otherwise it would have dropped off the bottom of the list before anyone saw it.
Anyways, back to the matter at hand.
Go, Dave!

<-- Of course (Also in our constituency the Lib Dem was the first name on the ballot)
And as I told the Tory on the door I was voting nationally.

Re: 2010 General Election: The Cable Forum Exit Poll
Voted tory more chance of snowballs in hell then a vote for labour and i just couldn't vote lib dem. Time will tell but i heard at least three others saying they liked what the lib dems said but when push came to shove couldn't vote for them. In fact our polling station was full of people talking about how they voted so those curtains were a waste of time lol.

I suspect a lot of people will pick up on ONE thing they don't like about the Lib Dems in order not to vote for them and continue to vote they way they usually do.
I can think of many reasons why I will not/have not voted Tory or Labour. With many reasons why I voted Lib Dem.

Yes, People are under the illusion that to vote for a party you need to agree with all their policies. I don't agree with the Liberal Democrats' Nuclear Policy but that wasn't a deal breaker for me. Whereas their standing on electoral reform and civil liberties are excellent. Reform has been the key issue for me as the Lib Dems will not win the election and I trust the Tories and Labour equally on the economy, the only way we shall get reform is if the Lib Dems have enough seats in a minority government to force a referendum on the issue.
I see positives in whoever wins to be honest. The Tories are likely to be the most aggressive in getting rid of the deficit and reducing out national debt. Labour are likely to the best at protecting public services, increasing the minimum wage, and not reducing benefits to those who need it.

It was certainly a hard choice, all I'll say is I ended up not voting for one of the 'big three'.

Wasted vote then surely?
I myself am registered to vote, but never received a polling card and I'm working all day anyway

Certainly not a wasted vote. Anything that helps those get in is what I'd call a waste.
Incidentally you don't need a polling card to vote (if you get time) and are registered - just show them your driving licence.

You don't need one and I agree, a vote in England for anyone, but the big three is a wasted vote.
