Virgin Media and Badongo
Is anyone else having problems with Badongo and Virgin?
When i try and download anything i get the message
YOU ARE CURRENTLY CONNECTED TO OUR SYSTEM WITH THE FOLLOWING IP ADDRESS: 62.30.249.131
THIS ADDRESS HAS DOWNLOADED A TOTAL OF 949MB IN THE LAST HOUR ALREADY.
Now that isnt my IP address yet it detects my system as so and im not using a Proxy.
Any ideas?

Re: Virgin Media and Badongo
You do love your file sharing sites.
That IP address belongs to one of the IWF filters on the VM network. In common with pretty much every other file sharing site Badongo has had some kiddie porn uploaded to it recently so is on the IWF watch list. The site is detecting the proxy IP.
The solution is very simply to stop using these sites. If files are legit get people to send them to you directly or rent an FTP server, bandwidth is cheap. If files are warez, etc, use Usenet or P2P.

Re: Virgin Media and Badongo
Get them to upload them to Rapidshare, Hotfile or one of the other sites you have a premium / paid for account with or to use Imageshack / Youtube, problem solved.

Re: Virgin Media and Badongo
we were using hotfile but downloads have gone tremendously slow even on premium download... I can barely manage 200k some days on hotfile.
Rapidshare she was getting problems uploading to out there for some reason.

Re: Virgin Media and Badongo
One or other of you could of course just pony up a tenner a month for some web space in that case.
EDIT: I appreciate the inconvenience but this is a sad side effect of sharing services with child molesters and warez monkeys and frankly entirely the fault of the companies who cynically take the money of aforementioned people in order to supply bandwidth and storage to them.

I do see your point. I can imagine you would have problems explaining such things.
Get her to download this and give her the details to the FTP, if you can't be bothered with paying for a server you could even host your own with this, she can then drag and drop. Not rocket science.

Re: Virgin Media and Badongo
You could try using a free file host that you haven't heard of (one that isn't under siege from millions of users).
There's bound to be one with decent speeds!
