Hotmail Hacked ?
Well I think my old hotmail address has been hacked(not 100%). It's never really used by me as my main email is a gmail one. Only reason I have the crap and check it now and again is because it was linked to my Xbox360 account.
So I logged in today to find loads of "message delivery failure notice" messages in my inbox. Having looked through some they are all emails from me with spam links in.
I dont use this account hardly anywere at all and I dont use the same password on anything else. I'm not sure how I've been hacked(if I have and its not some other exploit) and luckily there is no personal information in the account that I know of.
Has this happened to anyone else ?

Re: Hotmail Hacked ?
Not sure if it's related but on my Yahoo email I've received emails from myself that are spam links. Never happened on Hotmail though.

Re: Hotmail Hacked ?
Most likely, this is just spam with a forged sender field. Delete and move on. Nothing to worry about...

They are not emails from myself though they are emails sent from my email address to random other emails. Some have failed for reasons like "inactive account" etc etc and thats why they have been reported back to me.
They have also been sent to some people in my contacts list but not all. I also got a load of emails from an old friend with the same sort of thing's(link's) in and can only assume her email address has been compromised to.

Thats what I thought at first until I seen some of them had been sent to one of my contacts. That's what is pushing me more towards the idea it was hacked.

Re: Hotmail Hacked ?
Most likely your address was spoofed by a spammer and you are getting all the bounces.
Occasionally I get them too.

I know 2 people who have Hotmail accounts and they have both been hacked this week, had numerous spam messages from them both.

Re: Hotmail Hacked ?
I'm guessing that Hotmail isn't being 'hacked', and that it's being caused because people just don't have secure enough passwords.....

I never use common or easily guessed passwords. They are always long and usually include a selection of letters and numbers.

Re: Hotmail Hacked ?
Hmm its starting to sound like some mass breach or some exploit being used over at hotmail.

Re: Hotmail Hacked ?
if ur worried about it being hacked change the password and security password.
When my ex and i split i changed my password but forgot the security password which he knew the question to and he was sending out emails trying to get me into trouble after changing my passwords.

Re: Hotmail Hacked ?
I received a message from my daughter's hotmail recently; it was some sort of worm that got into hotmail and it sends spam to all her contacts
