Packet loss - online games unplayable

Hi all,

I am a Virgin ADSL customer in Edinburgh. Tonight I have been experiencing severe packet loss that has made internet games unplayable. Here is a pingplotter plot
http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/5...stomerteli.png

The loss appears to start at the first hop, host82-14-174-1.not-set-yet.ntli.net

Any ideas what I can do about this?

Thanks

Re: Packet loss - online games unplayable

Can we see the full PATHPING www.bbc.co.uk please? Partial information leads to even worse speculation as to problem than we already do!

Try a different cable if you have one handy too, and maybe try a different port on the router.

Re: Packet loss - online games unplayable

I have now tried restarting the computer and router, changing ports and changing wires. I'm still getting the 17% packet loss between the computer and router on pathping. Strangely I'm not seeing the freezes / lag on online games that I was getting earlier.
