Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2010)
A nice little article from the FT on Berkett about restructuring VM over the last few years and hints at some more deals in the pipeline http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/703eadf4-0...nclick_check=1

As I understand it, under the current Competition Commission rules, ITV's ad rates are regulated according to viewer ratings on ITV1. If ITV launch ITV HD and ITV1+1 these technically count as completely separate channels, even though presumably carrying exactly the same programmes and ads. If lots of people switch to them from ITV1, ITV will potentially lose lots of ad revenue.
The red button fix on Freesat presumably gets around this somehow (or numbers are too small to make a difference).
We won't be seeing ITV HD on either Virgin or Sky until this is resolved. May be fairly soon. See: http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2010...ad-sales-rules

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2010)
Seems to be resolved at least for itv+ channel and HD. Itv not happy but there you go.
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/broadcas...dated-crr.html
the "official consumer" launch of freeview HD in spring may tie in with full time itv1 HD on sat and hopefully virgin. Freeview HD is already on line in Granada and London with a few more city areas due in spring too. Reports are that 1st boxes come out this month. I am keeping Argos on hooks - they keep texting it as out of stock from their new cat. Soon as one appears I may jump in - have abandoned XL and HD until more arrives (like itv HD).

Looks like it isn't being shown anymore, not listed on livesportontv.com, tvguide.co.uk or the Sky Sports site.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2010)
Eurosport HD will launch soon on Virgin Media as the first of "several" new HD channels coming to the cable TV platform over the coming months.
