EPG Upgrade?
I have been with what we now call Virgin since 1994 (Cambridge Cable back then) and have always enjoyed the service, however one thing has always annoyed me and that is the EPG, it's been rubbish and terribly slow all this time, why hasn't anything been done about it, and it's not just the slowness of it but i have the scientific atlantic V+ box and ever since i got it on a regular basis the EPG locks up completely and i have to unplug the box and reboot it just to get it off the screen, it's about time they learnt from SKY and make an EPG that actually works as smooth as it should do

Re: EPG Upgrade?
Nothing wrong with the EPG. It's the hardware that runs the software. I have the SA V+ and must comment on the fact that the EPG is alot smoother and quicker recently. I am unsure if anything has been done but I first noticed this after my card swap out. Perhaps it's just a coincidence but I am happy with the speed on my SA V+ now.

Re: EPG Upgrade?
Well i may have to give them a bell and ask about getting my box changed for the Samsung although when i spoke to them last month they told me they would be releasing a totally new box sometime in febuary so i thought i would wait, but as no news has come on this i may just get the samsung instead and see if that helps

Re: EPG Upgrade?
They are going to release a HD only box soon. Here's the thread discussing this. http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/11...x-non-pvr.html
Good luck asking for a samsung as you will not get a box change unless there is a fault with you existing equipment. Even then you will only get what the tech has on his van.

Re: EPG Upgrade?
Think i just mentioned i had a problem lol, the EPG is painfully slow and locks up on a regular basis meaning i have to reboot the box, i'd say thats a fault

Re: EPG Upgrade?
Agreed, lol, but I am referring to you asking for a Samsung box. You will only get one if the tech has one and only if he/she chooses to install one.

Re: EPG Upgrade?
Maybe so, but the guy on the phone said i would be able to upgrade to the new box he said was coming out although if it is the HD only one he was talking about then that woud be no good as i want the recording services.
Example - was having problems with my broadband modem so they just sent me a new one in the post, didn't send an engineer at all, infact they sent me 2 lol, maybe i'll get lucky and they'll send me a new box in the post hehe
