STB re-set this morning for no reason?
I had a programme set on my DVD recorder early this morning and at 03:59:19 it re-set, and I noticed that my STB was at channel 999 which wasn't the channel I had left it at. So when I fast forwarded the recording I saw that the STB completely re-set at 03:59:19 this morning, and I wondered if this was a national thing or a problem in my area as this has never happened before.
I had a look at the settings and there are a few 88 and 89 error codes for CAK callback attempts and failures.
Any ideas?

I would have thought that when it came back it would be back on the same channel but it stayed on Channel 999
Hopefully this doesn't happen to often.

If it's on channel 999 when it comes back on it usually means it's had a software update.

Yes, some boxes in Scotland were updated last night.
Everything happens for a reason.

It's to support the switch to NGTV and the new smartcards. You probably won't notice any differences.

Was the VOD search not part of that update or can that be pushed as a component to the box? I'm sure since the VOD search arrived my box is snappier, that might just be a placebo effect though!
Also the info panel populates first time now (used to take three presses) - I know the data provider has been changed so does that mean my local headend has been upgraded or is it as simple as just changing the data provider?

Re: STB re-set this morning for no reason?
It happened late yesterday morning here in the North London franchise, haven't noticed any difference in service.
Updates have to be done at some point otherwise, service performance wouldn't be as good.

The latest is 4.something. Don't worry, you haven't been forgotten. Glasgow hasn't been updated yet.
