Crimp round cable

Hello all

I would like to crimp this cable but it has 3 shielded wires in it and the fourth one is just like a collection of very thin shreds ... I tried to crimp an RJ9 using a standard crimper but as the fourth cable is not shielded .. it is virtually impossible to do it properly .. is there a special way or crimp tool for such cables ..

Any help is appreaciated. Thanks.

Re: Crimp round cable

The fine wires are the shield. Techy way of doing it is to solder a wire tail to them... there are many techniques recognised for this.

RJ9, that's the plug from between a telephone base and a handset isn't it?

Re: Crimp round cable

Thanks for replying back. What I can see as shreds are 2 things. One is just plastic or some non-conductor material which I guess is acting as the shield and other shreds are some metal shreds which together form the 4th wire ...

can such a cable be crimped perfectly manually? and yes RJ9 is between headset and the telephone ...
