Ntlworld addy to Virginmedia addy
I did ask over at the VM help forum about having to change from an ntlworld addy to a virginmedia one and apparently I have no choice about the matter as far as I can read the replies except not to use the service.
Well as I have innumerable sites set up with that address it's highly inconvenient that I shall have to try and remember all of them (that I care about)and go around and change them all.
It was bad enough having to do it when C&W were taken over by ntl...
Can anyone tell me how much warning we may get so we can sort matters out to our own satisfaction?

Re: Ntlworld addy to Virginmedia addy
Methinks you asked on the wrong forum
From VM's help pages
"What happens to my email address when it's moved to the Google email service?
In short, there’s no change to your address. Your existing address will carry on working, and you don't have to use a @virginmedia.com email address just to use the service. You can continue to use your existing address if you want. After your mailbox has been moved to the Google platform, you will be able to choose whether you want to change to an @virginmedia.com address."

Re: Ntlworld addy to Virginmedia addy
Thank you..A clear concise answer.
That'll do for me then..I see no reason to go round and try to remember every site if there is no need to especially as my 'footprints' are farther spread out over the internet than when ntl took over from cable and wireless.

Where had you read that we would have to be changing from ntlworld to virginmedia addresses?
I've not heard anything about it.

Re: Ntlworld addy to Virginmedia addy
You don't HAVE to change to a virginmedia email addy. I'll certainly be keeping my blueyonder one.

Re: Ntlworld addy to Virginmedia addy
Are you allowed to keep your @ntlworld and get an @virginmedia one too?

Yes but the difference being if you kept your @ntlworld addresses you can still keep your 15 mailboxes but if you want just one @virginmedia email address as well then you have to reduce the mailboxes to 10.
