Re: Which phone to buy?
No sure what model of phone to tell you to get but as for sony ericsson i would stay away from them, i have had samsung gallore as so for nokia for years and never had a complaint. my last one was a sony ericsson c902 and its pish, freezez reboots does abnormal things constantly. Sick pulling the battery on it. my other 2 accounts for my missus and ma boy have the same probs and they to have sony but models differ so in all sony ericsson suck big time.. Canny wait till contracts are up for renewal.

Re: Which phone to buy?
I have a Sony Ericsson W580i and it's had to be repaired so many times, only once was it not inherently faulty. First (my fault) it was charging on the floor and I had a really unstable keyboard drawer on my computer desk which fell on the phone and cracked the screen so got that replaced for £20. Second the screen kept going blank when sliding up and down so sent to O2 for repair under warranty. Third, the camera stopped saving pictures and just exited every time I took one so sent for repair under warrenty. Now I believe the W595 is the next one up from mine and all the problems from mine will have hopefully been sorted but I would never go for an SE phone again. I have found the most reliable phones to be Nokia's and my next phone will probably be either a Nokia or a Samsung.

I have the C902 and it's fantastic. Never had the problems you're describing. I've been using SE since it was just E and love them to bits. Unlike my dull Nokia work phones

Re: Which phone to buy?
A friend of mine had the C905 (high spec expessive phone) on contract. Had it replaced 4 times dues to faults. Thats not repaired 4 times thats 4 diffrent phones and they all came up with the same fault's. Eventually he had to go to another phone Samsung Tocco ultra I think. I've had a good couple Sony Ericsson phones in the past and have had alot of trouble with them myself but not on the scale my friend did.
Just be careful when buying a Ericsson phone(or any phone really). Do some research on the model you want and see if there are any common complaints. Thats what I always do now before buying a new phone. Good luck with your choice

Re: Which phone to buy?
I've had 5 phones over the years (PAYG)
Nokia 1660 - one of the 1st PAYG issued
Nokia 3330 - update out of date phone.
SE T-630 - wanted a colour screen and newer phone.
SE K750i - replacement for T-630 when I broke the screen.
SE W910i - replacement for K750i which I lost somewhere near the cinema I was visiting.
I have never had any problems with any of them.

Re: Which phone to buy?
I find that phones have gotten worse rather than better over the years in reliability. I put that down to it being such a massive market now all the companys are trying to think what new thing they can put in and rush out the door before there competitors think of it. This is meaning that there now not being properly tested anymore and just hitting the market. Thats my opinion anyway lol.

Re: Which phone to buy?
In the past I've had about 5 different SE phones and not had a problem asside from one that was water damaged though people I know have had some serious issues with the same handsets I have had. The only thing I could really find that set mine out from theirs is that I had stock firmwares put on all but my first two phones and the friend of mine who has had the most issues has had T-Mobile firmware on all of hers.

It does. It has all the features that I'm drawn to and the way the phone opens and the qwerty keyboard just look stunning imo. Very nice phone. I hope it drops in price soon but I just dont see it myself.

I think once the N95 8GB disappears completely you'll see a sharp ddrop in the price of the N96 which will in turn lead to a drop in the N97. I hope so anyway because I want an N97 myself If I cant get one of those I think I'm going to go for one of those Samsung Omnia HD phones (I8910 I think) its about the same price but if I'm going to pay a lot for a phone it might aswell be a beast!!
