Atleast it makes SD watchable, they only have 1 week till 15th when premiership starts, wonder if they will have hd ready by that time, i'm not convinced.

Thats not the reason its free this month, as the SD ESPN is also free to all customers.
I did watch baseball the other night and it wasn't HD.
But then most of the stuff on CH4 HD is not HD either. The logo appears to let you know when its HD and I have only seen it a few times.

Nothing has been shown in HD on ESPN yet, and won't be till the 15th. The Bundesliga game was only upscaled, nothing more.

I have just watched the WBA v NEWCASTLE in HD on BBC, and to be honest, it looks the same as in SD, does anyone know if there is a problem on the system.

Agreed, it was the first time I have seen footy in HD and I was blown away to be honest.
Can't wait for ESPN HD to kick off next week.

It looked good in SD too. As did the Bundesliga coverage on ESPN. I'm like a pig in errrr, mud.

Did you know that you can watch that game again and watch the highlights all this week on Virgin on Demand via catch-up on Demand and BBCi Player.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)
Who is going to pay £20 a month for just one channel, which was available in a package of other channels for significantly less than £20 a month?

Im not so sure. I was reading yesterday that the racing fraternity is fighting amongst themselves over plans to make racing more appealing.
Seems that bookies and race courses are losing customers to football betting and online betting and the uk industry is in danger of becoming a 3rd world racing country.
Maybe virgin has researched this and found the amount of people watching have fallen as well so not worth paying the cost of racing.

So you're agreeing with me then? To make racing more appealing they need to improve the sport. For example, remove the horses, courses and give the jockeys a ball and two nets. That way they can have two teams of 11 each aiming to get the ball into the opponents net.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)
So who thinks Living HD will launch this month? Just reading the stuff from the investors report last week I kind of got the feeling that the rush to launch the HD channels last month was to make good on what was said last year to investors. Now that they have another 12 months things may slow down?
If it was to launch this month surely there would be loads more info available?
