Always trust ben and spider pillars of the community they know what they are talking about. One thing i am dying to find out like on fx hd there is the occasional upscaled content now on the v+ it says on the display hdtv but if something is upscaled does it stay or go i know it sounds petty just curious.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)
I do agree that it's now a good time to move the HD category up to number 2 on the TV Guide. They should be making a bigger deal of free HD.
I wonder when are they going to update their website to highlight all this new HD, along with ESPN?

The HDTV on the front of the box will remain as the content is being upscaled before being transmitted in HD.
What I'm interested to see the difference between being upscaled before transmission and the V+ upscaling capabilities. In theory the broadcaster upscale stuff should be much better but then the V+ box is excellent at upscalling!

Aargh! As I walked away from the keyboard after posting my summary of HD pre-requisites I realised that I should have said ... to view a HD channel in HD you need ... because a few weeks ago somebody here very kindly answered my question about whether it was possible to view HD channels in SD on an SD TV via a SCART connection to a HD V+ Box. It is!

Hasn't been working all day on ex-telewest.
have just checked and the error message pops up for a second or two and then the picture comes on.... may try rebooting it to see if that sorts it (what a handy little button that is!)
