Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade
'Scheduled', looked it up in a VM Thesaurus and it came up with 'replacement for the often overused phrase 'coming soon''

Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade
I see that Belfast city (centre?) is getting it now but I have to wait 2-3 months despite being only 2 miles out! Cant see why they aren't able to upgrade the whole city at the same time.

If you click on where it says Connection at the top of the page it will give you your Host details.
Mine says ' cpc2- stre4-0-0-custXXX.bagu.cable.ntl.com ' which indicates, I think, that I would need to look under Stretford in the schedule rather than just Manchester.

Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade
Just asked CS why my connection is so slow being as Brighton has had the 10Mb upgrade and I've registered for it.
They told me that although the website shows Brighton as being complete they haven't yet finished the upgrade.
Was told to wait till the end of the month and then re-start router.
Anyone know if this is the case or is it CS bu||***** hoping that I'll go away for a couple of weeks or longer?

Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade
Received a mailshot from VM and when it was opened it revealed it was from Trevor Elliot MD Customer Services and showed presumably a Customer services operative with 2 fingers in the air. Comments welcome.
Small print shows acceptable use policy "Three Months average of actual 5MB file FTP download speeds in period 1 Oct 2008 to 31 Dec 2008" Now my first language is English and I cannot make sense of this.

I think they are seperate terms - there is probably a full stop in between the two.
The FTP bit will be in support of any download speed claims in the leaflet

I have found myself in similar circumstances today. I've contacted Technical Support through the newsgroups and pointed out that the upgrade timetable indicates that Bishop's Stortford region should already have been uplifted and asked them why I haven't had my speed increased. They replied to the effect that I am right and that I should contact Customer Care on 150 to get the upgrade.
I made two calls to CC, both times ending in them deciding that the problem was that my area hadn't actually been uplifted yet. I reported this back to TS who replied that they had now left notes on my account and that I should call CC again. This time CC reported back to me that, according to the information they have, my area is not done yet and is scheduled for May/June.
Anyhow, must be going - since I started writing this I've discovered that TS haven't, as I thought, finished for the day. They say they've added more notes to my account, this time with asterisks, and ask would I like to call CC again.

Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade
My wife rang today to request a modem ready for the upgrade as my STB won't support 10mb. She was told it would be a free installation but the service would cost an extra £2 a month. I'll discuss it with my husband she said.
I rang back after work and was told it would cost £5 a month extra!
I give up on this. I thought it was a free upgrade.
