Re: Left virgin
It's just bizarre. I use my broadband connection most days, and for working from home. It costs me less a month than the price of a round of drinks, a share of the food bill and a cab home.
I am not happy about a few things to do with VM, I would love it if I could pay extra to boost my service to 20/2 or 20/5, I dislike the congestion, I dislike STM. At the same time I do, to an extent understand the quandry.
I would still, however, very much like to know how much profit Virgin make on broadband

No, it isn't lies. It was true. 1st tech - couldn't do it. but 2nd tech with two men did it right.

Thats the problem, people dont complain enough henceforth thats why the service is poor at the moment as they know they can get away with it with the larger chunk of customers who are in a position of..
1. Not have a clue what is going on
2. Too scared to say anything in the fear they will look stupid.
People need to learn that they have rights and should use them. Be it ISP's, Public Transport, Council Services, Electricty Companies, Food companies etc etc

Re: Left virgin
Complaining is fine I am just sick of the low lifes who want everything for nothing, the idea is you get a provider to provide a service, if thye don't deliever you complain if they don't fix the issue then you should be refunded and then walk its simply, I have no idea why people moan and moan and get loads of refunds more than they are due and thenstay just walk if the company in question has lots of customers leaving because they don't have a great service they might buck up and fix the issues.
Virgin Media won't ever have the funds for the network to be amazing like could be due to these reason below
1. Tight ass customers wanting service for nothing
2. Massive debt
3. Management liking there hundred thousand pound bonus too much.

Reputation given, that's an excellent post from so many angles, a major one being that it looks at things from all points of view. I did enjoy the comment on management bonuses as well

I wish people would remember we are bought up in a capitalist system. Our whole economic profile is based on greed. You would not go to a car boot and pay the first price you are offered you haggle. When you sell your house you put it on high and expect to have to drop the price. Why should customers not try to get the best deal they can? companies try to get the best price they can whats the diff? they have the option to say no. To a point a customer paying a reduced fee is still income a customer leaving is worthless

Re: Left virgin
Unless of course the cost of the service (including all overheads) is more the reduced fee paid by the customer, then it is bad business (selling at a loss can only go on for so long).

Zingle whilst I do rate your comments highly that one was just the point I was making too many people want cheap services which means the company don't have the funds to make the service as good as it can be.
Due to this country been used to it this will never change, I remember asking my dad weather he would call up and complain because his mate got a better deal and he said no , so too me people used to pay for what they recieved and didn't moan and bitch because they want it cheap but still wanted the provider to upgrade the service, with what money are they meant to do this if all customers want is cheap service.

That is all well and true, but some people complain even when they're given their discounts. The point of haggling (as far as I know) is to get with a price you're happy with. You have a right to it but at the same time, the seller of the service (whether it be an indivual or a business) still wants to make a profit.

I would just hate to be behind him at the checkout at Tescos haggling with every single item on the conveyor belt...
