Up for a Change..
Ok, Recently I have been changing my Computer alot.. Either something has gone wrong with it, or it just isn't running well.
So I have decided to build my own computer this time, so I know what Im putting inside, and can fix it upto the standards that I would like.
What I need is a few sites to help me, Where you can buy computer parts at a reasonable price, I don't really know any, as I just used to buy my pc as a whole, and that was it.
I just need some places where I can buy computer parts, and recommending me parts would be much appreciated
Im looking for a large HDD - Around 120GB+
A fast Graphics Card - Not Amazing, but enough to play some nice games.
RAM 2GB+
Basically Just a faster computer, I would be greatful if someone could help.
Thanks in Advance.

Re: Up for a Change..
120 gig hdd is small buy a 500 gig
4gig of ram
On a budget? go for an amd system either 2 3 or 4 core upto you
AMD chipset motherboard
something like a AMD/ATI 4670 gfx
Branded PSU
64 bit operating system
if you have a few extra quid to spend buy an Intel
Ebuyer Microdirect scan cclcomputers do not buy from overclockers
If you need more detailed spec info post back with a budget

That's large for a 5 year old Hard Drive, but pretty miniscule by today's standards

Re: Up for a Change..
an idea on your budget would be great so we can scout round for the best bits etc or even a comp pre built from a company, some times works out cheaper and better.
amd cpu + ati graphics low to medium budget
intel + ati graphics medium to large budget
but without knowing how much you want to spend it would be difficult for anyone to recommend anything.

Re: Up for a Change..
Ok just priced you a system on microdirect
AM2+ quad core 920 £140
Asus M3A78pro AM2+ mobo |£70
ATI 4670 £56 quid
Kingston hyperx 4 gig ddr 2 £40
OCZ 500 watt modxstream psu £50 quid
so thats about 360 quid 20 quid for optical 50 quid for hdd £430 then you choose your case so it should be under £500
I went with AMD as the Phenom 2 cpus are as good as the Q6 quads from intel and to get the better Intel CPU you need to pay a premium on the Q9 series

If you spend the other ton you could have a 4870 nearly and have a wicked machine
