Currently supported Cable Modems?

Hi - I am going across to a friend tomorrow to install a new wireless router for them (a Belkin G+ - oddly the one I bought for them from Argos only has one aerial).

I wanted to check though before I go that their current cable modem is current and doesn't need upgrading. A while back when Virgin updated their Broadband service there was a page on their website showing all of the current modems and those that needed upgrading but I cannot find that now.

Anyway, my friend has an NTL:250 which he says he has had for a few years so it may need updating, but does anyone know if that is OK?

Re: Currently supported Cable Modems?

Speaking of Cable Modems, I've had my Motorola 5100 for roughly 5 years now since the 2meg days; then I upgraded to 4meg; then that package got upgraded to 10meg... yet I never received any modem upgrades.

Should I be asking for any upgrades or am I ok with my current Modem?

Re: Currently supported Cable Modems?

if you get full 10meg then you should be ok. if you have speed issues give them a call and they may send you a new one. its just hassle really if your ok speed wise already

More than capable of 10Mb and no need for an upgrade.

OK! thanks mate, one last thing, I'm definately no expert with the modem logs, but when I look at them I see a lot of WARNINGS and ERRORS... I was wondering if anyone with the tech know-how could look below and maybe tell me if it looks ok:

They are pretty much normal for most modems as the updates are disabled on Virgin but every single update comes down to your modem every time it is rebooted.
